Surface Treated Steel Sheet

Abstract: The present invention addresses the problem of providing a surface treated steel sheet that particularly improves resistance to surface contact scratch caused by contact between one surface and the other surface as a further improvement in scratch resistance and that has excellent corrosion resistance. The surface treated steel sheet has on either surface thereof a plating layer a first coloring membrane layer and a second coloring membrane layer. The ratio of the film thickness of the second coloring membrane layer to the film thickness of the first coloring membrane layer is between 0.1 and 0.5 inclusive. The first coloring membrane layer and the second coloring membrane layer contain resin particles. The proportion of the number of the resin particles having a thickness greater than or equal to the film thickness of the first coloring membrane layer is between 1% and 30% inclusive. The proportion of the number of the resin particles having a thickness greater than or equal to the film thickness of the second coloring membrane layer is between 50% and 100% inclusive.
