Abstract: This grain-oriented electromagnetic steel sheet comprises a base material steel sheet having a prescribed chemical composition, a glass coating film provided to the surface of the base material steel sheet, and a tension-imparting insulation coating film provided to the surface of the glass coating film. The base material steel sheet has an aggregate texture oriented in the Goss direction. In the base material steel sheet, a, ß, and ? satisfy formula (1), where a (°) is defined as the average variance angle from the ideal Goss direction with a rolling surface normal direction ND as the axis of rotation, ß (°) is defined as the average variance angle from the ideal Goss direction with a rolling transverse direction TD as the axis of rotation, and ? (°) is defined as the average variance angle from the ideal Goss direction with a rolling direction RD as the axis of rotation. Formula (1): 0.0=|ß|<2.5<|a|<4.0=|?|=10.0
