Method For Diagnosing Internal Short Circuit In Battery And Battery System For Providing Method

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing an internal short circuit in a battery and a battery system for providing the method. The battery system of the present invention comprise: a battery including a plurality of battery cells; a cell monitoring IC that, in a charging cycle for charging the battery, collects a first cell voltage of a battery cell corresponding to a certain charging section; and a main control circuit that calculates remaining charging time, which is the time required for the maximum value of the first cell voltage to reach the maximum value of a second cell voltage of a certain reference cell, calculates, on the basis of the remaining charging time, remaining charging capacity, which is a capacity difference value between the battery cell and the reference cell, and diagnoses a short circuit in the battery cell on the basis of a comparison result between the remaining charging capacity and a certain capacity reference value.
