Abstract: The present invention provides a hot-rolled steel sheet which exhibits excellent cold rolling performance. This hot-rolled steel sheet has a prescribed chemical composition in which the carbon content is 0.02 mass% to less than 0.20 mass%. The metal structure at a depth position of 1/4 of the sheet thickness comprises at least 30% by area of ferrite, at least 10% by area of pearlite, and 0-60% by area of the remainder composition. Ferrite crystal grains measured by electron backscatter diffraction satisfy a prescribed relationship.
