Method For Producing Cyclic Olefin Compound

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for producing a cyclic olefin compound, the method comprising a decarbonylation and decarboxylation step in which a cyclic olefin compound is obtained by decarbonylating and decarboxylating an alicyclic dicarboxylic acid anhydride in the presence of a nickel complex represented by formula (1) and a metal-based promoter, wherein the metal-based promoter contains one or more substances that are selected from the group consisting of elemental metals and metal compounds. Formula (1): Ni(Y)m(L)n In formula (1), Ni represents nickel having a valence of 0 or 2, Y represents an anionic monodentate or polydentate ligand and has at least one Ni-E covalent bond, E represents a heteroatom or a p-bonding group, m represents a real number of 0 to 2, L represents a neutral ligand, and n represents a real number of 0 to 6.
