Abstract: Provided are: an eddy-current-type reduction gear rotor having high strength at high temperatures and low electrical resistance; and a method for manufacturing the same. The eddy-current-type reduction gear rotor according to the present disclosure comprises a cylindrical part, the cylindrical part having a chemical composition satisfying formula (1) and comprising, in mass%, 0.05-0.15% of C, 0.01-0.15% of Si, 0.10-1.00% of Mn, 0.030% or less of P, 0.030% or less of S, 0.30-2.00% of Cr, 0.30-1.50% of Mo, 0.02-0.15% of V, 0.01-0.10% of Nb, 0.001-0.040% of sol. Al, 0.0005-0.0050% of B, and 0.001-0.010% of N with the remainder being Fe and impurities, and the cylindrical part further having a microstructure with a total surface area ratio of martensite and bainite of 99% or higher, and a yield stress at 700°C of 120-250 MPa.
