Molten Steel Manufacturing Method And Arc Furnace

Abstract: The present invention discloses: a method for producing molten steel, the method making it possible to efficiently cause an intended reaction in cases where an oxygen jet is injected to molten iron in an arc furnace and an auxiliary starting material is supplied simultaneously thereto. A method for producing molten steel according to the present disclosure is for producing molten steel with use of an arc furnace that is provided with an oxygen blowing means and an auxiliary starting material supply means, the method being characterized by simultaneously involving injection of an oxygen jet to molten iron in the arc furnace from the oxygen blowing means and supply of an auxiliary starting material toward a position P on the surface of the molten iron from the auxiliary starting material supply means. This method for producing molten steel is also characterized in that the position P is outside the collision surface of the oxygen jet and the molten iron.
