Abstract: The positive electrode active material according to the present invention comprises: a lithium composite transition metal oxide particle, which has a nickel content of 50 mol% to 80 mol% of the total metals excluding lithium and is in the form of a single particle consisting of one nodule or a quasi-single particle which is a composite of 30 or less nodules; and a coating layer formed on the surface of the lithium composite transition metal oxide particle, wherein the positive electrode active material satisfies Equation 1 below. [Equation 1] 1.0 = P2/P1 = 4.0 In Equation 1, P1 represents the total pore volume of pores with a diameter exceeding 40 Å in the positive electrode active material, and P2 represents the total pore volume of pores with a diameter of 40 Å or less in the positive electrode active material.
