Polythiol Compositions And Method For The Preparation Thereof

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing a polythiol from a polyene, and to polythiol compositions obtained from cycloaliphatic or isocyanurate polyenes. The method for preparing a polythiol comprises the following steps: a) reacting a polyene with a thiocarboxylic acid in the presence of oxygen (O2) and at least one organic solvent so as to obtain a reaction medium comprising a polythioester and the at least one solvent; b) carrying out a step of deprotecting the polythioester obtained in step a) so as to obtain a polythiol; wherein step a) and step b) are carried out as a one-pot synthesis.
