Abstract: The present invention relates to: a pouch cell which can efficiently discharge internal gas out of a pouch so as to retard or prevent a venting phenomenon occurring in the pouch due to internal gas and the like generated during charging or discharging of the pouch cell; and a method for manufacturing same. The pouch cell according to the present invention may comprise: an electrode assembly; and a pouch in which the electrode assembly is disposed, wherein the pouch comprises: a first layer and a second layer permeable to gas; and a barrier layer disposed between the first layer and the second layer, and having a plurality of holes through which gas can pass.
