Wound Iron Core And Method For Manufacturing Same

Abstract: A wound iron core 10 having a wound shape formed by layering folded steel plates, said wound iron core 10: having four flat parts 4 and four corner parts 3 adjacent to the flat parts 4 when seen in a side view in which the wound shape is viewed from a direction along a steel plate surface, and as a result, forming a rectangular shape which has a hollow section 15 in the center thereof; having one or more joining sections 6 where the end sections of the steel plates abut one another in the winding direction in each layer thereof; having a gap between end sections of the steel plates which face one another at the steel plate joining sections 6 in each layer; and having a tensile force of 10MPa or higher introduced in the plate thickness direction of the steel plates at one or more locations in a prescribed region which is defined according to the positional relationship of a gap of an arbitrary steel plate and a gap of a steel plate layered so as to be adjacent to said arbitrary steel plate in a cross-section extending along the winding direction and perpendicular to the steel plate surface.
