No. 1 Pithampur-454775, Dist. Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, India

The following specification particularly describes and ascertains the nature of this invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
Field of Invention
[001] The invention relates to container platforms provided for containers capable of being carried on cargo container carrying motor vehicle. It more particularly relates to containers that are also provided with means to lift themselves off of the cargo container carrying vehicle using a lifting mechanism provided for the same.
Background of the Invention
[002] In ordinarily utilised containers for transporting goods on available cargo transporting motor vehicles, the containers, once loaded, are fixedly attached to the frame of the motor vehicle after they have positioned on it. This typically causes such a cargo carrying motor vehicle to remain idle until the cargo container has been unloaded by work force employed to do the same at the destination. This reduces the availability time of the cargo carrying motor vehicle’s frame as it cannot move around with another cargo container while the container is being unloaded.
[003] In conventional solutions to this problem, the container is provided with legs that can be lifted or lowered by using hydraulic mechanisms that have multiple parts and a complicated construction thereby making them both hard to manufacture, repair and maintain and therefore uneconomical to utilise in a typical cargo carrying vehicle of our country. Furthermore, even in these known solutions, aligning and setting the heavily loaded containers on the frame of cargo carrying motor vehicle continues to remain a challenge. In the typical scenario existing in our country, where skilled workforce, properly tooled manufacturing facilities and quality material are all in short supply, manufacturing of these conventional containers with the required mechanisms is either not possible or is possible only with great reduction overall manufacturing volumes. Therefore, it is an objective of the present invention to provide a container chassis platform having a very simple construction that is capable of lifting a cargo container hydraulically.
[004] It is another objective of the present invention to provide a container chassis platform that has a lightweight modular construction and are therefore easy to repair.
[005] It is still another objective of the present invention to provide a container chassis platform that has a simple mechanism to guide the containers as they are being loaded onto the vehicle frame.
[006] It is yet another objective of the present invention to provide a container chassis platform that has a simple hydraulic circuit for easy lifting and lowering of the container from the cargo carrying motor vehicle frame.
[007] It is another objective of the present invention to provide a container chassis platform that reduces the idle time of the cargo carrying motor vehicle frame and its drivers and operators.
[008] It is yet another objective of the present invention to provide a container chassis platform that can be easily manufactured in high volumes due to its simple construction.
Summary of the Invention
[009] An embodiment of the invention achieving the stated objective, that is detachable type container chassis platform, comprises of, an electric cab motor, C channels, leg weld plates, hydraulic cylinder assemblies, front leg assemblies, leg weld brackets, rear leg assemblies, twist locks, top and bottom pins, and stopper brackets. In the disclosed detachable type container chassis platform, the electric cab motor is mounted on a container front panel. Two C channels are fixed at the front and at the back on the vehicle frame and are located between the vehicle frame and the container. The leg weld plates are fixed at a front bottom portion of the container and then also to a top portion of the front leg assemblies. The hydraulic cylinder assemblies provided in each of the front and rear leg assemblies are fixed at their top and bottom ends within the respective leg assemblies by means of bottom and top pins respectively. The leg weld brackets are welded on the bottom rear portion of the container and also to a top portion of the rear leg assemblies. The twist locks are provided at both ends of the C channels that are respectively fixed at the front and at the back on the vehicle frame and are located between the vehicle frame and the container.
[0010] Furthermore, the stopper brackets are fixed at one ends of each of the round inner pipe. The other end of the round inner pipe being connected with the top portion of the front leg assemblies. The round inner pipe thereby enable rotation and translation movement of the front leg assemblies along the axis of said round inner pipe with the movement being restricted by the stopper bracket surfaces.

Detailed Description of the Invention
[0024] Referring to the figures 3, detachable type container chassis platform (100) , comprises of, an electric cab motor (1), C channels (4), Leg weld plates (5), Hydraulic cylinder assemblies (6), Front leg assemblies (7), Leg weld brackets (10), Rear leg assemblies (11), Twist locks (14), Top and bottom pins (16, 19) and Stopper brackets (21).
[0025] In the detachable type container chassis platform (100), (refer to Fig. 3), the electric cab motor (1) is mounted on a container front panel. This electric cab motor (1) is hydraulically linked to the hydraulic cylinder assemblies (6) (provided in the front and rear leg assemblies (7,11)) by virtue of hydraulic lines (15) provided on the bottom surface of the cargo container from each of the legs of the front and rear leg assemblies (7,11). The electric cab motor (1) is linked to a power source and is operable through a switch, connecting or disconnecting said electric cab motor (1) from the power source.
[0026] Two C channels (4) are fixed at the front and at the back on the vehicle frame (200C) and are located between the vehicle frame (200C) and the container (Refer to figs. 2 and 3). C reinforcements (2) are fixed onto a bottom surface along the two ends of both the C channels (4). Two nylon rollers (3) (refer to Figs 3 and 8) each are fixed on the top surface of the two C channel (4) at a location above the downward projecting ends of the C reinforcements (2) fixed on the bottom surface of the C channel (4). The nylon rollers (3) (refer to Figs 2, 3 and 8) interact with the straight guiding surfaces on the bottom of the cargo containers to direct the container into alignment with the C channels (4) as it is being loaded onto the cargo carrying motor vehicle’s frame (200C).
[0027] The leg weld plates (5) are fixed at a front bottom portion of the container and then also to a top portion of the front leg assemblies (7) by means of welding. The leg holder bracket (8) is fixed to the bottom surface of the container facilitates the holding of a lower portion of the front leg assemblies (7) when said front leg assemblies (7) are in a closed state.
[0028] The hydraulic cylinder assemblies (6) provided in each of the leg assemblies (7, 11) are fixed at their top and bottom ends within the respective leg assemblies (7, 11) by means of bottom and top pins (16, 19) respectively (refer to Fig. 3). The hydraulic lines (15) fixed along the bottom surface of the container hydraulically link each of the hydraulic cylinder assemblies (6) in the front and rear leg assemblies (7, 11) with the electric cab motor (1). The electric cab motor (1) is linked to a power source and is operable through a switch, connecting or disconnecting said electric cab motor (1) from the power source. The hydraulic lines (15) allow the hydraulic cylinder assemblies (6) in the front and rear leg assemblies (7, 11) to be extended and retracted as required by operation of the electric cab motor (1). The leg weld brackets (10) (refer to Fig. 3) are welded onto the bottom rear portion of the container and also onto a top portion of the rear leg assemblies (11).
[0029] The leg weld brackets (10) facilitate the holding of the rear leg assemblies (11) onto the cargo container body along with the conventional locks provided to release and put the rear leg assemblies (11) back into their closed or open position. A latch (11L) , for holding and locking the rear leg assemblies (11) in their closed position when said latch (11L) is in its closed state (for observing the closed state, refer to Fig. 11), is fixed on the rear of the container at a position configured to allow the arm of said latch (11L) to interfere with the legs of the rear leg assemblies (11) when the latch (11L) is in its closed state. In the open state of the latch (11L) (refer to Fig. 12 for observing the open state of the latch) the rear leg assemblies (11) can be lowered and the lifting or lowering (as required) of the container can be carried out by operating the electric cab motor (1). The latch (11L) can be lowered and rotated to release the legs of the rear leg assemblies (11) (i.e. change the state from closed to open), and moved back into its position by reversing this motion after lifting the rear leg assemblies (11), to put them back in their closed state (i.e. change the state from open to closed).
[0030] The twist locks (14) are provided at both ends of the C channels (4) that are respectively fixed at the front and at the back on the vehicle frame (200C) and are located between the vehicle frame (200C) and the container. Each of the twist lock (14) bodies support a twist lock lever (13) and permit said twist lock lever (13) to be twisted to allow its profiled head to be inserted and locked within a matching profiled bottom opening of a lock hub (12) (refer to Figs 3, 6a, 6b, 7a, and 7b). The lock hubs (12) being fixed on a bottom surface of the container directly above the twist lock (14) bodies. The twisting of the lock lever (13) allows its head to be inserted or removed from the lock hub (12) when the driver or vehicle operator desires to load or unload the cargo container from the frame (200C) of the cargo carrying motor vehicle.
[0031] The stopper brackets (21) (refer to Figs 3 and 9) are fixed at one ends of each of the round inner pipe (20). The other end of the round inner pipe (20) being connected with the top portion of the front leg assemblies (7). The round inner pipe (20) thereby enables rotation and translation movement of the front leg assemblies (7) along the axis of said round inner pipe (20) with the movement being restricted by the stopper bracket (21) surfaces. The leg lock brackets (17), provided along a central exterior portion of each of the front leg assemblies (7), enable said front leg assemblies (7) to be held in their closed state (refer to Figures 3, 4, and 10). Either ends of the stopper bracket (21) (refer to Fig. 9) contact with the bottom surface of the cargo container when the front leg assemblies are in their open state (refer to Fig. 3 and 5), and when they are in their closed state (refer to Fig. 3 and 4) to assist the front leg assemblies (7) to maintain their respective states.
[0032] The collapsable mud guard assemblies (9) (refer to Fig. 3), that are provided with pin joints to allow them to be folded and brought in contact with the bottom surface of the container, are respectively fixed on the container at a position above the respective rear wheels provided on the vehicle frame (200C). The two ends of the collapsable mudguard assemblies (9) being the top end of the flap of the collapsable mudguard assemblies (9) and the top end of the links connecting a bottom portion of the flap of the collapsable mudguard assemblies (9) to the bottom surface of the container. The rod linking the bottom portion of the mud guard assemblies (9) with the container has two portions that are linked with each other via pin joint as well to enable it to move and fold as the flap is retracted manually and fixed in its retracted position by the driver or the vehicle operator (when the cargo container is being loaded or unloaded from the frame (200C) of the cargo carrying motor vehicle).
[0033] When the driver or vehicle operator desires to lower the front leg assemblies (7) all that has to be done is to release said leg assemblies (7) from the leg lock brackets (17), and then the leg holder brackets (8) by first pulling and then rotating to lower said front leg assembles (7) into an open condition (refer to Figs. 5 and 10). Similarly, the rear leg assemblies (8) can be lowered from their closed condition by releasing their locks. The driver (or vehicle operator) would then operate the twist lock lever (13) to release the container from the C channels (4). The mud flap assemblies (9) are also released and put in their retracted position by operation of the pin joints. Once the electric cab motor (1) is operated to extend the hydraulic cylinder assemblies (6) of the front and rear leg assemblies (7, 11), the cargo carrying motor vehicle’s frame can move away from the cargo container (refer to Figs 1, 2, 4 and 5).
[0034] For loading the cargo container back on to the cargo carrying vehicle’s frame (refer to Figs 3, 4 and 5), the stated steps need to be carried out once again, but in reverse order. The nylon rollers (3) would guide the container as it is moved over the frame (200C) to arrive in the condition where the top portion of the twist lock lever (13) are perfectly aligned with the matching openings given on the lower surface of the lock hub (12) given on the bottom surface of the container. Once the hydraulic cylinder assemblies (6) are retracted by operation of the electric cab motor (1), the twist lock lever (13) can be operated to lock the cargo container over the cargo carrying motor vehicle’s frame (200C). The front and rear leg assemblies (7, 11) can then be put back into their closed condition by the driver or the motor vehicle operator.
