Description:TECHNICAL FIELD
[001] The present disclosure relates to a vehicle door handle, more particularly relates to the mechanically operated semi-flush outdoor door handle for a vehicle.
BACKGROUND
[002] The door handle assembly may include a pivot bracket mounted in the vehicle door. A handle arm pivotally mounted to the pivot bracket, a handle alignable flush with a door handle cutout. Further a motor assembly may operatively engage with the handle arm to selectively cause pivoting of the handle arm relative to the pivot bracket. The door handle assembly may also include a handle depression limit switch, a handle flush button, or a handle extension limit switch in communication with a control module that controls the motor. Further, the existing fixed type handle requires E-Latch for door opening or De-Latching. This complete system for door opening is a costlier system.
[003] However, there are no semi-flush or fixed type outer door handle available which can be operated mechanically using scoop type hidden lever inside.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[004] The principal object of the present disclosure is to provide fixed type outer door handle with a hidden lever.
[005] Another object of the present disclosure is to provide a mechanically operated fixed type handle which does not require any switch or electronics for operating thereof.
[006] Yet another object of the present disclosure is to provide a cost-effective solution for the fixed type outer door handles.
[007] Still another object of the present disclosure is to provide better acoustic results in the fixed type outer door handles.
SUMMARY
[008] In an implementation of the present disclosure a mechanically operable fixed type outer door handle assembly for vehicle doors. The door handle comprising a housing with a pocket, a scoop lever hidden in the pocket, an intermediate lever, a bell crank lever, and a bracket joint. The bell crank lever is configured with the bracket joint for connecting the bell crank lever to a M-Latch via a lock rod for de-latching of the vehicle door. The intermediate lever provides rotational movement to the bell crank lever upon pulling of the scoop lever. The rotational movement of the bell crank lever facilitates de-latching of the M-Latch and opens the door of the vehicle.

[0020] The present invention provides a mechanically operated fixed outer door handle (hereinafter “the door handle (100)”). More particularly, the present invention provides the door handle (100) for an outer door assembly of a vehicle, where the door handle (100) is mechanically operable to open the vehicle door.
[0021] The present invention is illustrated with reference to the accompanying drawings, throughout which reference numbers indicate corresponding parts in the various figures. These reference numbers are shown in a bracket in the following description.
[0022] The mechanically operated fixed outer door handle (100) comprising a bezel (1), a large gasket (2), a housing (3), a scoop lever (12), a bell crank lever (18), an intermediate lever (15), a bracket joint (22), a large foam (26), a request switch (6), an antenna (7), a request switch cover (4), and a LED unit (25).
[0023] The door handle (100) is located on the outer panel of the vehicle door using a plurality of mounting clips (9) and a plurality of mounting springs (10). The bezel (1) is flushed in an outer panel of a vehicle door. The bezel (1), a large gasket (2), and a large foam (26) sandwiched therebetween is configured on the housing (3). Further, the bezel (1) is a fixed part used for aesthetic purpose. The large gasket (2) is used for restricting water and dust entry in the door handle (100).
[0024] The housing (3) is provided with a pocket therein. The scoop lever (12) is hidden in the pocket of the housing (3). The bell crank lever (18) is operably connected to the scoop lever (12) via the intermediate lever (15). More specifically, the intermediate lever (15) operably connects the scoop lever (12) with the bell crank lever (18). Further, the intermediate lever (15) provides rotational movement to the bell crank lever (18) upon pulling of the scoop lever (12). An EPT sealer foam (14) is provided below the scoop lever (12) for dampening effect and reduce the handle noise. The bell crank lever (18) is configured with the bracket joint (22) for connecting the bell crank lever (18) to a M-Latch via a lock rod for de-latching of the vehicle door.
[0025] In an exemplary embodiment, a user is required to put the hand on the scoop lever (12) through the pocket of housing (3) and then pull the scoop lever (12) using at least four fingers. Once the scoop lever (12) is pulled, it rotates the bell crank lever (18) through the intermediate lever (15). The bell crank lever (18) thus the de-latches the M-Latch and opens the door of the vehicle.
[0026] The bell crank lever (18) includes a counter weight (19). More specifically, the counter weight (19) is insert moulded with the bell crank lever (18) to meet the crash requirement. The request switch (6) and the antenna (7) are provided for passive entry in the vehicle. The request switch cover (4) provides water and dust protection for the request switch (6). The lock bolt (8) is used to hold the door lock in the housing (3).
[0027] The LED unit (25) is provided for illuminating the door handle (100). The large gasket (2), the intermediate lever (15), and the bell crank lever (18) are affixed on their position using knurling pin (13, 17, & 21) respectively. Additionally, the back of the door handle (100) is encased using a cover (23).
Advantages of the invention:
1. The present invention provides a fixed outer door handle assembly with a hidden lever.
2. The handle of the present invention eliminates need of electronics as it is manually operable.
3. The handle of the present invention is supported by M-Latch as well as E-latch for de-Latching / door opening.
4. The present invention door facilitates opening cheaper than fixed type handles available in market.
5. The handle of the present invention is Cheaper than Flush Type handles.
6. The present invention provides Improved aesthetics over conventional handles.
The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the present invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching. The embodiments were chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the present invention and its practical application, and to thereby enable others skilled in the art to best utilize the present invention and various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated.
