[0021] The present invention relates to a books and newspapers storage device that is capable of storing newspaper and books in different sections by providing security to the books/newspapers by detecting the moisture and humidity level and works on to maintain the level to the threshold value. Additionally, also capable to withdraw dust from the books/newspaper and dispense the dust to a container.
[0022] Referring to Figure 1, an isometric view of a books and newspapers storage device is illustrated, comprises of a cuboidal housing 101 positioned over a fixed surface, a flap 102 is configured within the housing 101, plurality of motorized slidable trays 103 installed within each of the compartment, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 104 installed over the housing 101, a pair of ball and socket joints 108 installed over lateral sides of the apex portion, a pair of motorized grippers 105 each installed with the joints 108, a pair of storage chambers 106 installed beneath each of the compartment, and a display panel 107 is installed with each of the compartment.
[0023] The proposed device incudes a cuboidal housing 101 positioned over a fixed surface, wherein the housing 101 is made up of any material but not limited to plastic or metallic material alike. The cuboidal housing 101 is segregated into two compartments with the help of flap 102. A flap 102 is configured within said housing 101 to segregate said housing 101 into two compartments, each developed to store books and newspapers of in accordance with name and publishing date of said books/newspapers. The two compartments are developed in such a way to store books/newspaper in sorted manner which results in the books/newspaper store in the cuboidal housing 101 according to the name of books/newspaper along with publishing date of the books/newspaper.
[0024] The housing 101 is integrated with a microphone for receiving voice commands from the user. The microphone contains a small diaphragm connected to a moving coil. When sound waves of the user hit the diaphragm, the coil vibrates. This causes the coil to move back and forth in the magnet's field, generating an electrical current. The signal of which are sent to the microcontroller for processing the input voice command of the user regarding requirements of any of books/newspapers.
[0025] The cuboidal housing 101 is fabricated with an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 104 which is situated at the top of the housing 101. The imaging unit 104 comprises of an image capturing arrangement including a set of lenses that captures multiple images of the books/newspaper when the user positioned the books/newspapers near the housing 101, and the captured images are stored within memory of the imaging unit 104 in form of an optical data. The imaging unit 104 also comprises of a processor that is integrated with artificial intelligence protocols, such that the processor processes the optical data and extracts the required data from the captured images. The extracted data is further converted into digital pulses and bits and are further transmitted to the microcontroller. The microcontroller processes the received data and determines the distance of the books/newspaper from the compartments.
[0026] Each compartment is integrated with multiple motorized slidable tray for receiving books/newspaper or sending books/newspaper to the user. An opening is crafted with each of the compartment which allows the user to protruding out the trays 103 from the required compartment. The motorized slidable unit is attached with tray from both sides of tray. The sliding unit consists of a pair of sliding rails fabricated with grooves in which the wheel of a slider is positioned that is further connected with a bi-directional motor via a shaft.
[0027] The microcontroller actuates the bi-directional motor to rotate in a clockwise and anti-clockwise direction that aids in the rotation of the shaft, wherein the shaft converts the electrical energy into rotational energy for allowing movement of the wheel to translate over the sliding rail by a firm grip on the grooves. The movement of the sliding unit results in the translation of the tray over the compartment as per requirement.
[0028] An OCR module which is optical character recognition module synced with the imaging unit 104 and the microcontroller only actuates OCR module when the user put the bools/newspaper at a distance which is lower than the threshold value. The OCR module consists of image processer to enhance quality, character segmentation for isolating text, feature extraction to identify patterns, and classification using methods like neural networks. Post-processing corrects errors using dictionaries or context. The OCR module begins by acquiring an image of books/newspaper, preprocessing the image to enhance clarity, segmenting the image into individual characters or words, extracting features such as letters and texture, date, and finally classifying these features to recognize characters. Thus the OCR module determines the text written over the books/newspaper which results in identifying the name and publishing date of the books/newspapers and send these information to the microcontroller.
[0029] Upon receiving information from the OCR module, the microcontroller actuates a specific tray to protrude which is according to the name or publishing date of the books/newspapers to allow user to store books and newspapers in the tray in their specific compartment. By storing books/newspapers in this manner which results in good management of the books/newspapers which is accessible easily by the user whenever user need an appropriate book or newspaper.
[0030] When the user want to collect a particular book or newspaper from the device, then user give voice command to the device via microphone regarding the required book/newspaper. Upon receiving commands from the user, the microcontroller actuates a camera which is installed with each of the tray which works similar to the artificial-based imaging unit 104. The camera is synced with the OCR module for determine the name/publishing date of the books/newspapers. Then, the camera works accordingly to the user’s requirement in such a way that, all the camera’s from the tray works together and detects the correct book/newspaper sends the information to the microcontroller. Then, microcontroller matches the received information with the user’s requirement and after conformation, actuates one of the specific trays 103 to protrude out from the respective compartments to provide user specified books/newspapers.
[0031] The compartments are consisting of sensing module for monitoring the humidity level and moisture level of the stored books/newspapers. Sometimes, the books/news. Storing books for long time affects the books/newspapers in many ways as pages of books become yellow and paper binding decays over time. To prevent books from theses problems, the sensing modules detects the humidity and moisture level of the books/newspapers and sends this information to the microcontroller.
[0032] The moisture sensor uses electromagnetic waves (microwaves or radio waves) to measure moisture content without physically touching the surface of books/newspaper. The moisture sensor emits electromagnetic waves towards the books/newspaper and measure the reflected signal. The amount of reflection varies with moisture content, allowing the sensor to determine moisture levels without direct contact, which is then sent to the microcontroller in the form of an electrical signal.
[0033] A humidity sensor for monitoring humidity level of books/newspaper utilizes a capacitive sensing element with a moisture-sensitive dielectric material. Changes in humidity alter the material's dielectric constant, varying the capacitance between electrodes. An integrated circuit (IC) converts these capacitance changes into a voltage signal proportional to humidity. This signal is then processed and transmitted to the microcontroller via analog-to-digital conversion. Components include the capacitive sensor element, IC for signal processing, and interface circuitry for microcontroller communication. This setup enables real-time monitoring.
[0034] The microcontroller upon receiving the signal from sensing modules compares the received signal with the pre-fed data stored in the database and consequentially determines the moisture level and humidity in the books or newspaper. In case the microcontroller determines that the moisture level and humidity level is abnormal, then the microcontroller actuates an air blower which is installed over each of the tray to remove detected moisture and humidity from the books/newspaper in such a way to protects books/newspapers from decaying.
[0035] The air blower comprises of a vortex, heater, impeller and an outlet duct. The blower increases the pressure of the air drawn for the surrounding of the tray by a series of vortex motions formed by the centrifugal movement of the impeller. Upon actuation of the blower by the microcontroller, the impeller is rotating wherein the channels in the impeller push the drawn air from the surrounding forward through a heating unit, that increase the temperature of the absorbed air by creating the centrifugal movement that generates a helical movement of the air. During this centrifugal movement, the absorbed air is continuously compressed along the channel and the pressure increases linearly. The pressurized air is transferred from the outlet duct of the blower to the surface of the books/newspaper.
[0036] When the user went towards the housing 101 and if in case user places any book or newspaper over the apex portion of the housing 101. Then, the imaging unit 104 determines the presence of books or newspapers over apex area of the housing 101 and sends this information to the microcontroller. Upon receiving information, the microcontroller actuates a pair of motorized grippers 105 which is installed over lateral sides of the apex portion to provide grip and spread the books/newspaper in such a way that user reads the books/newspapers in a comfortable manner. The grippers 105 grips the books/newspaper from both the ends in secured manner so that to prevent the books/newspapers from flipping and user reads the books/newspaper without any disturbance.
[0037] The robotic grippers 105 includes a link connected with multiple motorized ball and socket joints 108 and grippers 105 for smooth and precise gripping of books/newspaper. The motorized ball and socket joints 108 includes a motor powered by the microcontroller generating electrical current, a ball shaped element and a socket. The ball moves freely within the socket. The motor rotates the ball in various directions that is controlled by the microcontroller that further commands the motor to position the ball precisely. The microcontroller further actuates the motor to generate electrical current to rotate in the joints 108 for providing movement to the grippers 105 for spreading the books/newspaper over the apex, so that user reads the books/newspapers without any distraction.
[0038] Books/Newspapers are stored in a specific compartment and with passage of time, dust is collected on the surface of books/newspapers when user is not frequently using the device. To prevent the books from the dust, a dust sensor is installed with each of trays 103 in which books/newspapers are stored. The dust sensor is synced with camera to determine the dust over the books/newspapers.
[0039] The dust sensor used herein is based on an optical sensing method to detect dust. The dust sensor consists of a photo sensor which gets photo from the camera and an infrared light-emitting diode (IR LED). The IR- LED emits the IR rays on the books/newspapers and the photo-sensor receive the reflected IR LED rays from the books/newspapers surface. The reflected rays are processed by the microcontroller to detect the presence of the dust over the books/newspapers. Based on the detected dust, the microcontroller actuates a suction unit which is installed within the housing 101 to withdraw the detected dust in a container. The container is made up of any material but not limited to plastic, steel material alike and the container is arranged with the housing 101 to collect the dust.
[0040] The suction cup/unit comprises of a bowl-shaped cup alike entity having two openings in which one side of the opening has a larger diameter and another side has a smaller diameter wherein the smaller diameter of the cup is attached with a vacuum pump associated with the tray via conduit that is interlinked with the microcontroller as well as the larger diameter of the cup is attached with a mesh arrangement for preventing passage of particles. On actuation, the pump creates a negative pressure which in turn a vacuum is created inside the cup for withdrawing dust from the books and stores the dust particles in the container.
[0041] There are numerous books or newspapers are stored in each of the compartment and with passage of time, the updated books/newspapers are exchanged by old books/newspapers. A pair of storage chambers 106 installed beneath each of the compartment for collecting books or newspapers separately. The chambers 106 is made up of any material but not limited to plastic, or metallic materials alike. The newspapers are changed by user on monthly basis in such a way to keep records all the news around world of a present month, moreover, the books are exchanged by the user when latest updated books available in the market. So the old books/newspapers are stored in the storage chambers 106 and this storage is accessed by the user whenever, user need to check old books/newspaper.
[0042] To provide all the information to the user regarding stored books in the compartment, a display panel 107 is installed with each of the compartment to display name and publishing date of the stored books/newspaper. The display panel 107 is made of many layers. These consist of a polarizer, polarized glass, display fluid and conductive connections. The display panel 107 has sets of polarized glass consisting of liquid crystal materials in between them. When the external light passes through one of the polarized glasses and electric current is applied on the liquid crystal molecules, they align themselves in such a way that polarized light travels from the first layer to the second polarized glass, causing an image to appear on the screen.
[0043] The display panel 107 play crucial role in the housing 101, display panel 107 helps user to keep record of how many books/newspapers are present in the housing 101. And if in case user wants to find any book or newspaper, then gets idea from display panel 107 whether the book or newspaper present in the housing 101 or not which saves user’s time.
[0044] Furthermore, a battery (not shown in fig.) is installed with the device to power all electrical and electronic component necessary for their operation. The battery is linked to the microcontroller and provides (DC) Direct Current to the microcontroller. And then, based on the order of operations, the microcontroller sends that current to those specific electrical or electronic components so they effectively carry out their appropriate function.
[0045] The proposed device works best in the following manner, the proposed device includes the cuboidal body which is positioned over the fixed surface and divided into two compartments with the help of flap 102 and the compartment is developed to store books and newspaper. Then the housing 101 consists of multiple motorized slidable trays 103 which is present in to both the compartments and trays 103 protruding out or in as per the requirement. When the user wants to store books/newspaper in the compartment, user places the newspaper/books near the housing 101, the imaging unit 104 linked with processor captures multiple pictures to determine the distance between books/newspapers between housing 101 and process the information to the microcontroller. Then, the microcontroller actuates the OCR module which to determine text written over the books/newspapers to identify name and publishing date of the books/newspapers, the microcontroller actuates a specific tray to protrude out of the compartment to allow the user to store the books/newspapers in the tray. Now, the display panel 107 is attached with each of the compartments which gives information about the stored books in each of the compartments. Although, the dust sensor is installed with each of the tray which monitors the dust on the books/newspaper and upon detecting the microcontroller actuates the suction unit to withdraw the dust from the books and dispense the dust in the container. Moreover, the sensing modules detects the humidity level and moisture level of the books/newspaper, if the humidity or moisture level increase, then the microcontroller actuates air blower which maintains the moisture level and humidity level of the books/newspaper which prevents the books. Then, if incase the user wants to read books/newspaper by putting the books/newspaper on the apex portion of the housing 101, then motorized grippers 105 grips the books/newspaper which restrict the pages to flip so that user reads the books/newspaper comfortably.
