Abstract: ABSTRACT SELF-CLEANING AIR FILTRATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS THEREOF A self-cleaning air filtration system (100) for a vehicle is disclosed. The self-cleaning air filtration system (100) comprises an air filter (102) operationally coupled with an engine of the vehicle. The air filter (102) comprises at least one inlet port (104), at least one membrane, and at least one outlet port (106). The self-cleaning air filtration system (100) comprises at least one air reservoir (108) and at least one controller (114). The at least one controller (114) is configured to monitor an operational duration of the engine; generate a signal to activate a control valve (116) to create a pressure difference between a first port (120) and a second port (122), wherein upon creation of the pressure difference, release a jet of compressed air into the air filter (102) via a third port (118), and dislodge one or more impurities from the air filter (102) via a dust evacuation valve. <>
Description:SELF-CLEANING AIR FILTRATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS THEREOF
FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to a field of automotive air filtration system, and in particular, relates to a self-cleaning air filtration system for tipper trucks and mining vehicles, which automatically removes dust accumulation from air filter cartridges using compressed air.
BACKGROUND
[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] In tipper trucks and mining vehicles, air filtration is a critical requirement due to the extrem , Claims:WE CLAIM:
1. A self-cleaning air filtration system (100) for a vehicle comprising:
an air filter (102) operationally coupled with an engine of the vehicle, wherein the air filter (102) comprising:
at least one inlet port (104) configured to draw ambient air into the air filter (102),
at least one membrane configured to filter the air drawn, and
at least one outlet port (106) coupled with an engine’s intake manifold and configured to discharge the filtered air inside the engine,
wherein the self-cleaning air filtration system (100) characterized in that:
at least one air reservoir (108) configured to store compressed air at a predefined pressure value; and
at least one controller (114) configured to:
monitor an operational duration of the engine; and
generate a signal to activate a control valve (116) to create a pressure difference between a first port (120) and a second port (122) if the monitored operational duration exceeds a first predefined duration,
wherein upon creation of the pressure difference, re
