Abstract: MUFFLER SYSTEM FOR REDUCING UREA CRYSTALLIZATION ABSTRACT A muffler system (200) for reducing urea crystallization in a vehicle is disclosed. The muffler system (200) comprises an inlet tube (102) configured to receive exhaust gases, an adapter plate (104) welded to the inlet tube (102), a dosing unit mounted on the adapter plate (104) and positioned in a closest proximity to the inlet tube (102), the dosing unit is exposed to high temperature of the exhaust gases that leads to evaporation of urea crystals accumulated inside the dosing unit and a set of deflector plates (202) integrated within the inlet tube (102), wherein the set of deflector plates (202) are configured to mix evaporated urea with the exhaust gases. <>
Description:MUFFLER SYSTEM FOR REDUCING UREA CRYSTALLIZATION
FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to a field of mufflers for diesel vehicles, in particular relates to a muffler system for reducing urea crystallisation in a vehicle.
BACKGROUND
[0002] In the existing muffler design, placement of urea injector or a doser and deflector plates negatively impacts the overall efficiency and functionality of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system. The doser is mounted directly on the face of the muffler, which positions it away from the main flow of the exhaust gases. As a result, the area surrounding the injector tip does not experience sufficient exposure to the high-temperature exhaust gases that are essential for effective urea evaporation. Further, this positioning results in insufficient exposure of the injector tip to the heat required for effective evaporation of the injected urea solution. Without adequate temperatures, the urea may not fully convert into ammonia, which is a critic , Claims:CLAIMS
We Claim:
1. A muffler system (200) for reducing urea crystallization in a vehicle, the muffler system (200) comprises:
an inlet tube (102) configured to receive exhaust gases;
an adapter plate (104) welded to the inlet tube (102);
a dosing unit mounted on the adapter plate (104) and positioned in the closest proximity to the inlet tube (102), wherein the dosing unit is exposed to high temperature of the exhaust gases that leads to evaporation of urea crystals accumulated inside the dosing unit; and
a set of deflector plates (202) integrated within the inlet tube (102), wherein the set of deflector plates (202) are configured to mix evaporated urea with the exhaust gases.
2. The muffler system (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the adapter plate (104) is configured to transfer heat from the exhaust gases towards the dosing unit that leads to evaporation of urea crystals accumulated inside the dosing unit.
3. The muffler system (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the dosing unit mounted on the ad
