Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM FOR DETECTING CHARGER CABLES OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES The present subject matter is directed to a system (100) for detecting a charger cable (206) of an Electric Vehicle (EV). The system comprises a plug holder (104) to secure a plug (208) of the charger cable (206) when not in use. The plug holder (104) comprises an opening (106) within a storage compartment (102) of the EV. The opening (106) is defined by a 5 first edge (108) coinciding with an edge (110) of the storage compartment (102), a first side wall (112) and a second side wall (114) on either side of the first edge (108), and a restraining wall (116) connecting the first side wall (112) and the second side wall (114). Further, the system (100) comprises a sensing switch (122), positioned on the restraining wall (116), 10 to actuate and transmit a signal to a control unit of the EV to change a mode of the EV from a standby mode to a drive mode when the plug (208) is positioned in the opening (106). <> 15
