The present invention relates generally to decorative lighting fixtures, specifically to a decorative table lamp that combines aesthetic appeal with functional lighting. The invention is designed to address the need for elegant and unique lighting solutions, particularly in modern, residential and contemporary interior spaces, where form and function must complement one another. The lamp design is particularly focused on anthropomorphic design elements and utilizes a balance of visual harmony and stable structural features.
The anthropomorphic design that mimics human anatomy while incorporating functional lighting features where it comprises several modules—metal base ring, metal base plate, leg module, torso module, shoulder and arm module, head module, and a diffuser and reflector shade—each contributing to the lamp's overall aesthetic. The design uniquely integrates human-like elements and cloak style overall design aesthetic with a functional lamp structure to provide both a decorative object and a practical lighting solution.
The metal base ring (1) forms the foundation of the lamp, designed to provide structural support. It has a specific diameter, height, and wall thickness, which ensures stability. The metal base ring (1) is designed to house the cable routing hole (16) allowing for seamless cable management. The material used for the metal base ring (1) is typically a corrosion-resistant alloy, such as stainless steel or aluminium, ensuring durability and a sleek finish. The metal base ring (1) is finished in either a matte or polished surface, contributing to the aesthetic elegance of the lamp. The metal base ring (1) also houses a switch hole where the table lamp can be turned on and off using this switch.
The metal base plate (2) is designed to provide a stable platform for the lamp. It incorporates mounting points that secure the additional modules to the base. The material for the plate matches the base ring in quality and finish, offering consistency in design. The metal base plate (2) is precisely sized to allow for easy attachment of the leg module (3) and torso module (4) while maintaining a visually balanced form.
The metal base plate (2) is welded to the metal base ring (1). The leg module (3) mimics the form of a human leg, designed with curves and contours that enhance the lamp's anthropomorphic appearance. The leg is finished with a shoe module (8) , designed to resemble human footwear with smooth, rounded edges. This feature adds both aesthetic appeal and stability to the lamp's design, ensuring it stands upright without tipping. The shoe module (8) is welded to the base of the leg module (3).
The torso module (4), which houses essential components of the lamp such as wiring and electronic elements, is designed with proportions that enhance the visual appeal of the lamp. It is conical in shape, offering a slender silhouette that is proportionate to the overall design. The torso module (4) is crafted from rolled metal to balance durability with design. The shoulder and arm module (5) is constructed with tubular elements namely shoulder module (11) and arm module (10) that replicate the human arm and shoulder structure. The modular arms add a dynamic quality to the lamp's design, further reinforcing its anthropomorphic appeal. The arm modules are mounted to the torso at the shoulder module, where the dimensions and alignment are chosen to ensure an overall harmonious design. The head module (6) houses the lamp's diffuser (14) and reflector shade (17). The diffuser (14) , made of a translucent material, ensures even light distribution. The reflector shade (17) , which mimics the shape of a cap and the torso module (4) and reflector shade (17) come together to create a cloak silhouette , which is attached to the neck module (13) , contributing both to the lamp's functionality and aesthetic appeal. The head module (6) design is characterized by its clean lines and smooth transition from the neck module (13) to the diffuser (14) , giving the lamp a soft and inviting appearance.
The diffuser (14) is positioned within the head module (6) to ensure a soft, uniform distribution of light. The diffuser (14) is made of a translucent material, such as frosted glass or acrylic, that allows the light to pass through without harsh glare. Reflector shade (17) , which is shaped like a cap and the top part of a cloak, directs light downward or forward to enhance the lamp's functionality. The design of the diffuser and reflector shade also complements the overall anthropomorphic theme. The reflector shade screw (12) is used to adjust the position of the reflector shade (17) , diffuser, neck and reflector shade holder (15) is used to secure the reflector shade (17) and diffuser (14) together playing a vital role in design.
To assemble the lamp, the metal base plate (2) is welded to the metal base ring (1) . The leg module (3) is then mounted onto the metal base plate (2) using screws or fasteners. The torso module (4) is positioned above the leg module (3) and attached to the metal base plate (2) . The shoulder and arm module (5) is attached to the torso, and the head module (6) is secured at the top using an internal fastener mechanism The lamp is powered via an electrical connection routed through the base ring's cable routing hole. The user can operate the lamp by using a standard switch located on the base.
Compared to traditional table lamps, the LUNNARK DECORATIVE TABLE LAMP PAENULA LUMINAIRE offers a unique anthropomorphic design that sets it apart in the decorative lighting market. The integration of human-like shapes with functional lighting elements provides a visually striking, art-inspired piece that serves both aesthetic and practical purposes. In comparison to standard lamps, which often rely on simple, geometric designs, this luminaire offers a more dynamic and contemporary approach to lighting
