Abstract: ABSTRACT POLYNUCLEOTIDE CONSTRUCTS, VECTORS, RECOMBINANT CELLS AND METHODS FOR HYDROXYLATING STEROIDS The present disclosure relates to polynucleotide constructs, vectors, recombinant bacterial cells and methods for hydroxylation of steroids. The recombinant bacterial cell, as disclosed, 5 expresses a heterologous bacterial CYP450 and redox partners, particularly ferredoxin reductase and ferredoxin for hydroxylating steroids, particularly at the challenging C14 position of the steroid. The present disclosure provides scalable, cost effective, and efficient production of C14 hydroxylated steroids. 10
