A Method And System For Determining Tissue Thickness

Abstract: The present invention describes a system (300) for determining tissue thickness. The system (300) includes a transceiver unit (302) and a processing unit (304) communicably coupled with the transceiver unit. The processing unit (304) may be configured to receive ultrasound data comprising a plurality of reflected ultrasound signals, in response to subjecting a target area of the tissue with ultrasound signals at an incremental force, determine a plurality of compression values corresponding to the tissue based on cross-correlation between a pair of consecutive reflected ultrasound signals, calculate strain values and stress values corresponding to the tissue based on the determined plurality of compression values and the incremental force, respectively, and determine the tissue thickness based on the calculated strain values and stress values.
