Abstract: ABSTRACT A CATHODE ACTIVE MATERIAL AND PROCESS THEREOF The present disclosure provides a cathode active material of formula Li(1+x) NiLi (0.019 ≤ Y ≤ 0.031) Ni(v) Mn(w) Co(1-v-w)O2 . NiOz, wherein x is in a range of 0 to 0.6, v is in a range of 0.94 to 0.98, w is in a range of 0.01 to 0.03, and z is in a range of 0.001 to 5 0.015. The present disclosure also provides a cathode comprising the cathode active material as disclosed herein. Further the present disclosure provides a process for preparation of the cathode active material as disclosed herein.
