Sheet Metal Knuckle For Automotive Suspension

Abstract: SHEET METAL KNUCKLE FOR AUTOMOTIVE SUSPENSION A sheet metal knuckle (100) comprises a main member (102), a support member (106), an interface mounting member (108), and an arm mounting bracket (110). The main member (102) comprises a mounting interface (104a) for at least one suspension linkage (202). The support member (106) is attached to the main member (102) to provide structural strength. The interface mounting member (108) is attached to the main member (102), which functions as a stiffener and comprises mounting holes (108a) to fasten one or more brake components (204) and a bearing housing (206) to the sheet metal knuckle (100). The arm mounting bracket (110), attached to the main member (102), is configured to provide another mounting interface (104b) for the suspension linkages (202) and to enhance the strength of the sheet metal knuckle (100) (See FIGS. 1A-1C).
