Abstract: ABSTRACT A METHOD FOR FORMING A STABLE SOLID ELECTROLYTE INTERFACE (SEI) LAYER IN A BATTERY The present disclosure provides a method for forming a stable solid electrolyte 5 interface (SEI) layer in a battery comprising a cathode, an anode, and an electrolyte having an additive, the method comprising the steps of: (a) high temperature aging of the battery at a temperature in a range of 40 to 50℃, followed by cooling; (b) first charging of the battery to a first potential (V1), and second charging to a second potential (V2); (c) aging the battery at an aging potential (Va); and (d) sequentially 10 charging the battery to a third potential (V3) and to a fourth potential (V4), followed by discharging to form the solid electrolyte interface (SEI) layer in the battery, wherein, aging is carried out at a potential (Va) in a range of 3.6 to 3.7V for a period of 65 to 96 hours. Further, the present disclosure provides a battery formed by the method and use thereof.
