Abstract: ABSTRACT CORE TUBE FOR ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY The present subject matter discloses a core tube (100, 5 300, 400) for an electrode assembly of a secondary cell. The core tube (100, 300, 400) includes a shaft (102, 302) removably positioned at a center of the core tube (100, 300, 400) and a sheet member (104, 200, 304, 402) wound around the shaft (102, 302). The shaft (102, 302) may have a cross-section with at least three vertices. 10 Further, in an unwound state, an inner surface (202) of the sheet member (104, 200, 304, 402) defines a polygonal profile extending along a longitudinal axis of the sheet member (104, 200, 304, 402) and in a wound state, upon removal of the shaft (102, 302), the polygonal profile forms a truss, thereby providing structural integrity to the core tube.
