Abstract: ABSTRACT UNIFIED SEPARATOR LAYER FOR ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY 5 Example approaches for fabricating a unified separator layer (306) are described. In an example, multiple separator layers (306) may be fed through a pair of rollers (104, 204). The pair of rollers (104, 204) may be set to a temperature between about 120°C to about 125°C and operate at a speed of 0.5 mm/s. The pair of rollers (104, 204) may heat the multiple 10 separator layers and apply pressure on the heated separator layers to bond them together in the unified separator layer (306). The unified separator layer (306) may further be subjected to heat and pressure by another roller (110, 308). In an example, the unified separator layer (306) may be heated just before getting wound on the electrode assembly (102, 206, 310). 15 Accordingly, the thermal bonding process may eliminate the need for adhesive tape in securing the electrode assembly (102, 206, 310). <>
