Micro Diffusion Based Additive Manufacturing

Abstract: ABSTRACT MICRO-DIFFUSION BASED ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING Approaches for micro diffusion-based additive manufacturing (MDAM) of a 3- Dimensional (3D) object are described. In an example, the present subject 5 matter discloses a system including a platform and a dispensing unit movably coupled over the platform. The dispensing unit comprises a motor with a rotatable shaft, a threaded shaft coupled to the rotatable shaft, a feeding section to hold an additive comprising a first powdered material and a second powdered material, and a nozzle to eject the additive onto the platform. The 10 system further includes a control unit which is communicably coupled to the dispensing unit for controlling its movement over the platform to deposit layers of powdered materials. The control unit also regulates the temperature of a heating chamber where the platform with the deposited layers is subjected to heat treatment. This temperature regulation enables micro-diffusion between 15 the first and second powdered materials to form the 3D object. <>
