Two Dimensional (2 D) Photodetector And A Method Of Forming Thereof

Abstract: ABSTRACT TWO-DIMENSIONAL (2D) PHOTODETECTOR AND A METHOD OF FORMING THEREOF The present disclosure discloses a Two-Dimensional (2D) photodetector (PD) and a method of forming the PD. The PD comprises a substrate and a first insulating layer deposited over the substrate. Further, the method comprises a field generating layer deposited over the insulating layer and a charge transport layer deposited over the field generating layer. Furthermore, the PD comprises a charge transport layer deposited over the field generating layer and a second insulating layer deposited over the charge transport layer. Lastly, the PD comprises a top gate electrode formed on the second insulating layer and a back gate electrode formed with the substrate to supply gate control voltages, and source and drain electrodes are formed to establish edge contacts with the charge transport layer. The field generating layer is within Vander Waals distance with the charge transport layer to enhance dissociation and transfer of charge carriers. FIG. 1A
