A System Comprising Angled Nanopores For Controlled Translocation Of Biomolecules And Methods Thereof

Abstract: A SYSTEM COMPRISING ANGLED NANOPORES FOR CONTROLLED TRANSLOCATION OF BIOMOLECULES AND METHODS THEREOF ABSTRACT The present disclosure provides a system for detecting translocation of a target analyte, 5 comprising: a membrane and a nanopore located in the membrane; wherein the nanopore is located at an angle of more than 10° relative to the plane that is perpendicular to the plane of the membrane. Contrary to a conventional vertical nanopore, by providing the nanopore at an angle, the rate of translocation of a target analyte through the nanopore is reduced which enhances molecular dwell time leading to improved detection resolution. The present 10 disclosure also provides a method for fabricating the system comprising an angled nanopore and a method for detecting translocation of a target analyte by employing the system.
