Abstract: EduAI: Chatbot for Student Assistance is an AI tool that supports the assistance of students with their departmental-level queries and provides solutions with the best possible accuracy and precision. The chatbot uses Natural Language Processing tools to analyse and modify the queries accordingly and generates a standardized query for better output generation. The chatbot performs the semantic search over the vector database to retrieve the required outcome. With the additional support of adaptive learning, the chatbot improves its performance to provide better and personalized support for the students in departmental-level queries. The chatbot provides a wide range of functionalities, which include academic guidance and faculty information with real-time assistance. EduAI creates a user-friendly experience for the student who interacts with the Large Language Model.

The main objective of the revolutioning idea EduAI: Chatbot for Student Assistance, is to provide an AI-driven solution supported by Natural Language techniques and assists students in departmental affairs. This invention aims to intake the user-defined queries from the students, modify the queries to process and provide better results to assist them. The invention provides access at any time and is performed through automation, this provides better accurate outputs and reduces the manual efforts for resolving their queries. The model enhances the structure, tone and modulation of the text effectively, such that it can provide a well-developed and prompting output with it.

Detailed Description of the Invention
The following invention "EduAI: Chatbot for Student Assistance" generates an AI-driven chatbot as a solution to support academic guidance for students. This system uses the machine learning models like "all-miniLM-v2" for indexing of the files that are being provided as inputs; while Facebook AI Similarity Search(FAISS) is being used for more effective and efficient chunk retrieval. It uses Meta's recently launched Llama 3.2, with its generative capabilities to generate context-specific responses to queries being asked by the students. The user interface is being developed with Streamlit, providing an easy-to-operate and user-friendly interface.The "all-miniLM-v2" model is a lightweight and efficient transformer-based language model and plays an prominent role in embedding the institutional-related data into higher dimensional vectors. These embeddings provide effective and efficient indexing and search operations using FAISS. FAISS is being used for quick similarity checks and making it possible to extract the information that has contextually relevant information with less delay in time. This adds to the capability of implementing high-speed query processing with large datasets, like course catalogs, schedules and academic policies.FAISS indexing is being integrated to manage vast amounts of student-related data. The system utilizes FAISS in such a way that indexes can be searchable, allowing the chatbot to query efficiently over the datasets. FAISS provides the chatbot retrieves the accurate and tailored answerd from the Large Language Model when the user seeks any information about course prerequisties. This indexing enables the scalability of the application as new academic inputs are fed to it.
Llama 3.2 is a state-of-the-art language with natural language understanding and contextual output generation, used for the actual output generation. This makes replies from EduAI precise, relevant and contextual in answering every query being faced by students. The capability of answering nuanced questions, such as related course credits and very specific departmental policies, makes this model, a perfect choice for academic assistance.The base framework upon which the interface of EduAI is built is Streamlit. It is supposed to be simple and easy to use;it is aimed to provide ease to use for different stakeholders including students. The model intakes the institution-specific policies, program details and academic calendars into its database. The mobility in the chatbot remains relevant and helpful for the students across various educational institutions.
