Abstract: A technology invention discloses that a multilevel authentication system that is software-upgradable, cost-effective, and integrated with ATM machines is provided for secure retrieval of blocked or stuck ATM cards. The system detects a card blockage and notifies the user via an OTP, which is sent to the registered mobile number. Apart from the regular interface, an additional button on the ATM allows the user to start the unblocking process by providing the OTP received as the first level of authentication to the system. The second step is facial gesture recognition, where the user picks one from the list of possible gestures and performs it, the ATM camera is recording this, third authentication level requires the user to log into the bank's mobile app or use an authenticator app and then re-enact the same gesture, take a picture. A module Al compares the images of the gestures from the two devices for verification. Once the images match, the ATM will be the one to release the blocked card thus automatically. This solution raises the level of security, it is elimination of the need to replace hardware, less manual intervention, card stealing prevention, and it also allows continuous monitoring at any time without depending on fully functional CCTV systems. It is practical, efficient, and user-friendly
A method for unblocking a stuck ATM card involves automatically detecting the card obstruction and notifying the user. Upon detection, an OTP is generated and sent to the registered mobile number o f the card owner. The ATM interface includes an extra “Card Recovery” button to initiate the authentication process. 2. The user must enter the received OTP on the ATM interface as the first step of authentication.
Once verified, the interface presents a selection o f facial gestures, such as blinking, smiling, or head tilting. The user chooses a gesture for identity verification. 3. A high-resolution camera built into the ATM captures the user performing the chosen facial gesture. The user is then prompted to open their mobile banking or authenticator app. In the app, they repeat the same gesture while recording using their smartphone camera. 4. The mobile application securely transmits the recorded gesture image to the ATM system.
Both ATM-captured and mobile-captured images are processed. An Al-powered module compares them for gesture match and identity confirmation. 5. I f the images match successfully, the ATM system authorizes the release o f the stuck card.
This process ensures a secure, multi-step verification combining OTP entry and biometric gesture recognition. All communications occur through a secure channel to prevent fraud. 6. An embedded access control module governs the card release process. The card is ejected only after all authentication steps are completed. This integrated method enhances ATM security while providing a reliable solution for retrieving stuck card
