Solar Based Segway Vehicle For Short Distance Travel

Abstract: The Segway is a uniquely sophisticated machine that uses on-board computers working with multiple sensors and redundant physical systems to sense the motions of the rider, and to react to those motions. The “Stand up Scooter” requires the rider to learn how the machine will respond to the throttle and brake, while physically holding on to the machine to counter the unbalanced forces of acceleration and deceleration. They are more efficient than fuel powered vehicles for shorter distance and time of travelling. An electrical vehicle such as Segway, if widely used in the society would give a helping hand in reducing pollutions caused by two wheelers. It would save time and efforts in travelling short distances on barefoot for ages of people.

Specification

Description:3D model is made using CAD software accordingly contains components required for the model is bought and tested. It consists of solar powered which can provide higher power densities and battery which act as energy storage.
DC motors are designed for two speed operation one high other one is for low speed.
The frame structure of segway is made as simple as possible. It has been designed to withstand the weight of motors, battery and weight of the person.
Motors supposed to do some work and two important values define how powerful the motor is. It is motor speed and torque – the turning force of the motor. , C , Claims:1 A Segway for reducing pollution and enabling short-distance travel, the Segway comprising:
a solar panel configured to generate electrical energy up to 35V, the solar panel operable as an alternator to supply power to the vehicle;
a battery serving as a primary power source for driving the vehicle; and
a direct current (DC) motor operatively coupled to the battery and configured to control the movement of the vehicle.
2. The Segway as claimed in claim 1, wherein the Segway is adapted for use in society to reduce pollution caused by conventional two-wheelers and to facilitate convenient short-distance travel, thereby saving time and effort, particularly for elderly individuals.
