Abstract: In the case of this power conversion device for a railroad car, a converter control section (242) provided in a control device (240) comprises: a counter voltage computation unit (501) for computing a counter voltage to be used as a reference for current control of a converter (210) on the basis of a detected value of an overhead-line voltage; and a voltage phase estimation unit (502) for estimating the phase of an alternating-current voltage to be applied to an auxiliary power supply device (107) during an unpowered period on the basis of the counter voltage. The counter voltage computation unit (501) comprises: a phase difference estimation part (810) for estimating a phase difference between a first phase, that is, the phase of a first voltage which is an overhead-line voltage detected by an ACPT (102) after the unpowered period is ended, and a second phase, that is, the phase of an alternating-current second voltage estimated by the voltage phase estimation unit (502) on the basis of an overhead-line voltage detected by the ACPT (102) before the start of the unpowered period; and a switching part (820) for switching the sign of a frequency correction amount by which to correct the frequency of the second voltage on the basis of the estimated phase difference, that is, the value estimated for the phase difference.
