Brake Device For Railway Vehicle

Abstract: This brake device (2) for a railway vehicle obtains a brake force by pressing a friction material (63) against a rotating body that rotates when the railway vehicle travels, the brake device comprising: a control instruction acquisition unit (41) that acquires a proximity control instruction to bring the friction material in proximity to the rotating body without generating a deceleration force; a computation unit (42) that calculates a minute output target value, which is a target value of the force to press the friction material against the rotating body in response to the proximity control instruction acquired by the control instruction acquisition unit; a friction material control unit (65) that controls a movement of the friction material according to the minute output target value calculated by the computation unit; and a brake force sensor (64) that detects a brake force generated between the rotating body and the friction material, characterized in that the computation unit determines whether or not the brake force is being generated on the basis of detection information from the brake force sensor and, when the brake force is being generated, applies a correction to reduce the minute output target value.
