Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present invention, the battery management apparatus comprises: a profile acquisition unit for acquiring first profile regarding multiple batteries included in a battery pack, respectively; and a diagnosis unit for calculating target ratios from the multiple first profiles, respectively, calculating respective target values as diagnosis factors on the basis of the calculated multiple target ratios, generating a distribution profile indicating the correspondence between the calculated multiple target values and the number of each of the multiple target values, determining whether the distribution profile satisfies a predetermined condition, and diagnosing the state of the battery pack according to the determination result.
