Abstract: An apparatus for diagnosing a battery, according to the present invention, comprises: a profile acquisition unit for acquiring a battery profile that indicates the correspondence relationship between the voltage and the capacity of a battery charged or discharged at a target C-rate; a profile correction unit for generating a correction profile by correcting the battery profile on the basis of an overpotential profile that indicates the capacity-specific overpotential of a reference battery, generated when the reference battery is charged or discharged at the target C-rate, and generating an adjusted negative-electrode profile adjusted to indicate, using the correction profile, the correspondence relationship between the negative-electrode capacity and negative-electrode potential of a battery to be diagnosed; and a control unit for diagnosing, on the basis of a negative-electrode termination potential value extracted from the adjusted negative-electrode profile, the state of the battery to be diagnosed.
