The exhaust after-treatment system (100) comprising an inlet pipe (106) fluidly connected to an internal combustion engine (104) and configured to receive exhaust gases generated by the internal combustion engine (104), a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) (108) fluidly to oxidize hydrocarbons (THC) and carbon monoxide (CO), a diesel particulate filter (DPF) (110) to filter particulate matter (PM) from the exhaust gases, a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) unit (112) to reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) using a urea-based reductant, a downstream SCR unit (114) integrated with an ammonia slip catalyst (ASC) (118), a housing (116) configured to accommodate the DOC (108), the DPF (110), the SCR unit, and the downstream SCR unit (114) in a U-shaped exhaust flow configuration.
