Abstract: A PISTON FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE ABSTRACT A piston (100) for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The piston (100) comprises a cylindrical shaped body (102) operatively coupled to a piston arm and configured to reciprocate within a cylinder bore. Further, the cylindrical shaped body (102) comprises a piston crown (104) defining a flat annular brim (106), and a centrally depressed flat surface (108) extending inwardly from the flat annular brim (106). Further, the flat annular brim (106) and the centrally depressed flat surface (108) together define a compact and symmetrical combustion chamber. Further, the compact and symmetrical combustion chamber is configured to promote uniform flame propagation and enhanced mixing of gaseous fuel during combustion. <>

Claims

1. A piston (100) for an internal combustion engine, the piston (100) comprising: a cylindrical shaped body (102) operatively coupled to a piston arm and configured to reciprocate within a cylinder bore, wherein the cylindrical shaped body (102) comprises a piston crown (104) defining: a flat annular brim (106), and a centrally depressed flat surface (108) extending inwardly from the flat annular brim (106), wherein the flat annular brim (106) and the centrally depressed flat surface (108) together define a compact and symmetrical combustion chamber, and wherein the compact and symmetrical combustion chamber is configured to promote uniform flame propagation and enhanced mixing of gaseous fuel during combustion.
