Abstract: ABSTRACT INJECTOR CLAMP ASSEMBLY FOR RETAINING A FUEL INJECTOR WITHIN A CYLINDER HEAD OF IC ENGINE The present invention discloses an injector clamp assembly (100) for retaining a fuel injector within a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine, the assembly (100) comprising: a clamp body (102) configured to be mounted to the cylinder head by a fastening element; a rear support portion (104) arranged to abut a first mounting plane of the cylinder head; a front clamping portion (106) configured to engage an injector flange to retain the fuel injector within a combustion chamber; and an offset structure (108) interconnecting the rear support portion (104) and the front clamping portion (106). Further, the rear support portion (104), the front clamping portion (106), and a bolting region (110) of the clamp body (102) are positioned on different vertical planes relative to one another, thereby enabling secure injector retention within constrained packaging spaces while resisting combustion-induced forces.
1. An injector clamp assembly (100) for retaining a fuel injector within a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine, the assembly (100) comprising: a clamp body (102) configured to be mounted to the cylinder head by a fastening element; a rear support portion (104) arranged to abut a first mounting plane of the cylinder head; a front clamping portion (106) configured to engage an injector flange to retain the fuel injector within a combustion chamber; and an offset structure (108) interconnecting the rear support portion (104) and the front clamping portion (106), wherein the rear support portion (104), the front clamping portion (106), and a bolting region (110) of the clamp body (102) are positioned on different vertical planes relative to one another, thereby enabling secure injector retention within constrained packaging spaces while resisting combustion-induced forces.
2. The injector clamp assembly (100) of claim 1, wherein the front clamping portion (106) comprises a prong-type struct

FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates generally to fuel injection systems for internal combustion engines, and more particularly to injector clamp assemblies and methods for retaining a fuel injector within a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine.
BACKGROUND
[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] Fuel injectors used in internal combustion engines must be securely retained within a , Claims:We Claim:
1. An injector clamp assembly (100) for retaining a fuel injector within a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine, the assembly (100) comprising:
a clamp body (102) configured to be mounted to the cylinder head by a fastening element;
a rear support portion (104) arranged to abut a first mounting plane of the cylinder head;
a front clamping portion (106) configured to engage an injector flange to retain the fuel injector within a combustion chamber; and
an offset structure (108) interconnecting the rear support portion (104) and the front clamping portion (106),
wherein the rear support portion (104), the front clamping portion (106), and a bolting region (110) of the clamp body (102) are positioned on different vertical planes relative to one another, thereby enabling secure injector retention within constrained packaging spaces while resisting combustion-induced forces.
2. The injector clamp assembly (100) of claim 1, wherein the front clamping portion (106) comprises a prong-type struct
