Abstract: THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR A SLEEPER COACH BUS HAVING A REAR ENGINE COMPARTMENT ABSTRACT A thermal management system (100) for a sleeper coach bus having a rear engine compartment (108) is disclosed. Further, the system comprising a passive enclosed cool air ducting arrangement (102) configured to minimize heat transfer from the engine compartment (108) to the rear passenger berth mattress. Further, the system includes at least one closed steel air duct (104) extending along a bottom surface of at least one rear berth (106), and at least one closed steel air duct (104) extending vertically along a rear wall of a berth section facing the sun heat. Further, the closed steel air duct (104) are sealed, non-ventilated, air recirculating air channels forming a conduction-based thermal barrier between the engine compartment (108) and the rear passenger berth mattress without airflow communication.

Claims

1. A thermal management system (100) for a sleeper coach bus having a rear engine compartment (108), the system comprising: a passive enclosed cool air ducting arrangement (102) configured to minimize heat transfer from the engine compartment (108) to the rear passenger berth mattress (106), wherein the system includes at least one closed steel air duct (104) extending along a bottom surface of at least one rear berth (106), and at least one closed steel air duct (104) extending vertically along a rear wall of a berth section facing the sun heat, and wherein the closed steel air duct (104) are sealed, non-ventilated, air recirculating steel air channels forming a conduction-based thermal barrier between the engine compartment (108) and the rear passenger berth mattress without airflow communication.

FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] The present invention relates generally to the field of thermal management systems for passenger transport vehicles, and more particularly to a thermal management system for a sleeper coach bus having a rear engine compartment.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. A thermal management system (100) for a sleeper coach bus having a rear engine compartment (108), the system comprising:
a passive enclosed cool air ducting arrangement (102) configured to minimize heat transfer from the engine compartment (108) to the rear passenger berth mattress (106),
wherein the system includes at least one closed steel air duct (104) extending along a bottom surface of at least one rear berth (106), and at least one closed steel air duct (104) extending vertically along a rear wall of a berth section facing the sun heat,
