Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING INFLOW AND OUTFLOW RATES IN A LIQUID RESERVOIR AND A METHOD THEREOF A system and a method for determining inflow and outflow rates in a liquid reservoir includes 5 a level sensor 102a configured to measure a liquid level in the reservoir 102 and a processing unit (108) to receive level measurements from the level sensor 102a, segment the level measurements into discrete hydraulic events based on at least one of a plurality of parameters, wherein the hydraulic events include at least one of a pure inflow event, a pure outflow event, a mixed inflow and outflow event, and an idle event, and determine, by a multi-step 10 correlation technique, an inflow rate into the reservoir and an outflow rate from the reservoir based on the level measurements and the plurality of parameters, in response to detection of the mixed inflow and outflow event.
