Smart Iot Enabled Real Time Electrical Demand Optimization System For Construction Sites

Abstract: The present invention relates to an integrated loT-based energy management system comprising smart energy metering hardware and a cloud-based analytics platform for real-time monitoring and optimization of electrical parameters in temporary installations such as construction sites. Existing systems are limited to basic metering or post-facto analytics and fail to provide real-time actionable intelligence suited to dynamic load conditions. The proposed system enables continuous acquisition and transmission of electrical data, including energy consumption, demand, and power factor, to a centralized platform using loT for real-time analysis. The analytics platform applies data-driven algorithms on continuously acquired electrical parameters to perform load profiling, peak demand identification, and dynamic contract demand optimization. It further implements real-time power factor computation and threshold-based anomaly detection to identify deviations from optimal operating conditions.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a comprehensive electrical energy management system. It is a combination of hardware-software loT-based platform, comprising smart energy metering devices for real-time electrical parameter measurement and a centralized analytics platform for data processing, visualization and
triggering decisions.
The invention facilitates real-time monitoring and optimization of energy consumption, power factor, contract demand, and associated financial parameters in temporary electrical installations.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Construction sites rely on temporary HT/LT electrical connections with contract maximum demand typically estimated conservatively. This practice leads to, ■ Overestimation of contract demand and excessive fixed charges. ■ Poor visibility of real-time electrical consumption. ■ Power factor penalties due to lack of continuous monitoring.
Existing systems either provide basic metering or post-facto analytics, but fail to deliver real-time actionable intelligence tailored to dynamic construction / temporary electrical installations.
