Abstract: ABSTRACT 3-DIMENSIONAL WAVE SORTER The present invention relates to conveyors, particularly to conveyors conveying one or more goods. Larger warehouses spread across multi tiers with intense flow of items/ SKUs in segments like Ecommerce, Retail, FMCG, 3 PL etc. are needing sortation/ diversion systems for various critical process. Therefore, there is a need to construct a conveying and sorting system with the capacity to meet high throughput requirements performance demands of the warehouse. To meet the objects of the invention it is disclosed here 3 directional conveyor transfer system with a 3-dimensional conveyor for using in warehouse segments like Ecommerce, retail, FMCG, 3PL, etc., with intense flow of items/ SKUs require conveying & sorting automation to achieve high throughput and to meet performance demands in various processes.

DESC:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to conveyors, particularly to conveyors conveying one or more goods.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Larger warehouses spread across multi tiers with intense flow of items/ SKUs in segments like Ecommerce, Retail, FMCG, 3 PL etc. are needing sortation/ diversion systems for various critical process such as item segregation at inbound, storage location/floor wise diversion, bulk flow and volumetric diversion to packing/other process lines/ order consolidation destination wise sorting at outbound, etc. in order to meet high throughput requirements performance demands of the warehouse.

US9156629B2 discloses a diverting conveyor with bidirectional assist roller to help sort articles over the side of the diverting conveyor. The main conveyor mentioned in the prior art comprises of rollers throughout the conveyor. The bidirectional assist roller rotates on an axis parallel to the main conveying direction thereby diverting the items by actuating the rollers in a direction over the side of the diverting conveyor. Thus, the diverting conveyor demands the main conveyor to be made of a plurality of rollers and makes it complex to procure and to maintain.

JP6987431B2 discloses a wheel type direction changer which relates to a transfer conveyor switching device, and more particularly to the use of wheels in the structure of a confluence point, wherein the document fails to explain the position of the wheel type direction changer in the conveyor line.

CN104093649A discloses a multi directional roller assembly for directing articles in a conveying system. The roller assembly comprises gears bordering the assembly, eccentric cam ring, thus making the construction a complex one.

Therefore, there is a need to construct a conveying and sorting system with the capacity to meet high throughput requirements performance demands of the warehouse.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
An object of the invention to provide a 3-dimensional wave sorter relates to a multi directional wheel-based sortation system integration with a 3-Dimensional conveyor.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
To meet the objects of the invention it is disclosed here 3 directional conveyor transfer system with a 3-dimensional conveyor for using in warehouse segments like Ecommerce, retail, FMCG, 3PL, etc., with intense flow of items/ SKUs require conveying & sorting automation to achieve high throughput and to meet performance demands in various processes.

The 3-dimensional conveyor is constructed like a wave with downward displacements at the required sorting positions to have a single conveyor across the line though the entire system consists multiple straight & inclined transitions also with many wave-like transitions. Each sorting position is provided with a multi directional transfer system installed at the downward displacement of the conveyor for receiving and transferring items/ SKUs towards required position or to the conveyor itself for continuing to next sorting positions.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Fig.1 shows the images floor vise sorting to storage rack and the volumetric diversion to packing.
Fig.2 shows the diagram of the 3-dimensional wave sorter connecting ground, first and second floors of a warehouse.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Referring to FIG.2, a 3-dimensional conveyor system (100) is disclosed which is made of 3-dimensional conveyor designed with the conveying route as per application requirement. Multi floor staircase type is one of the 3D-conveyor configurations connects ground, first & second floors of a warehouse storage for conveying items/ SKUs across multiple floor and sorting at respective positions provided at each floor. The 3D-conveyor (3) made of a heavy-duty modular belt and across the length made as a single continuous section and driven with a single motor (4) despite multiple transitions.
Referring to FIG.3, the 3-D conveyor also constructed like a wave (1) provided with a downward displacement section at sorting positions of all the floors. The wave like construction aids continuous path and belt flow of the conveyor also provides space for integrating a multi directional transfer system. A multi directional transfer system (2) placed at the downward displacement section (1) provided at every floor for sorting items towards respective direction/ position.

Referring to FIG.4, the multi directional transfer system constructed with series of conveying and transvers roller modules made of multi directional conveying wheels and mounted perpendicular to each other for conveying as well as controlling flow of items/ SKUs. Operating the conveying & transverse roller modules at different speeds and directions using two independent motors aid moving items/ SKUs towards desired sorting position or continuous transfer to conveyor itself for conveying to desired floor.

The 3-Dimensional wave sorter is a customizable solution with many complex 3-dimensional configurations with many transitions horizontal, inclined, etc. based on properties of item/ SKUs to be sorted, required conveying route/ flow, number of sorting positions, etc. as per various applications requirements such as Inbound, storage location/floor vise diversion, bulk flow and volumetric diversion to packing/ other process lines/ order consolidation & destination vise sorting at outbound, etc. In order to meet high throughput requirements & performance demands of the warehouse.

Advantages
• 3-dimensional wave sorter constructed as a single conveyor despite multiple transitions due to conveying route and multiple wave like transitions due to sorting positions saves many number of conveyors, motors and control integrations.
• The 3-dimensional conveyor driven with single motor offers higher saving in power consumption.
• Modular and scalable as per application requirements.
• Flow control achieved with simple system made of multi directional differential wheels and does not require any external mechanism/ motorized belt unlike conventional systems.
• Simple system made of minimal components reduces overall complexities, maintenance, wears, failure points also the cost.
,CLAIMS:We Claim:

1. A 3-dimensional conveyor system (100) comprises of:
a 3-dimensional conveyor (3) in a wave like construction with downward displacements at the required sorting positions;
a plurality of sorting positions (1) at the downward displacement of the conveyor (3) for receiving & transferring items/ SKUs towards the required positions or to the conveyor itself for continuing to next sorting position; and
a plurality of multi directional transfer system (2) each positioning at the downward displacement section at along the conveyor for sorting items towards respective direction/ position.

2. The 3-dimensional conveyor system (100) as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the conveyor (3) is made of a heavy-duty modular belt and across the length made as a single continuous section and driven with a single motor (4) despite multiple transitions.

3. The 3-dimensional conveyor system as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the multi directional transfer system (2) comprises of:
a plurality of conveying roller module with multi directional wheels in an array arrangement with a distance between one another;

a plurality of transvers roller modules with multi directional wheels in an array arrangement perpendicular to the transvers roller module with a distance between one another, wherein the multi directional wheels are relatively larger than that of the conveying roller modules; and

two motors driving the conveying and transvers modules independently by belts/ chains for controlling speed and direction to aid movement of items/ SKUs towards desired direction or position.
