Abstract: The present invention relates to a back flip seat for a travel coach that is capable of being flipped in both the directions of travel of a vehicle thereby providing best comfort seating position to an occupant. More particularly, the present invention relates to a seat back mechanism that enables the flipping of said seat in either direction of movement of a vehicle.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION:

[001] The present invention relates to a back flip seat for a travel coach that is capable of being flipped in both the directions of travel of a vehicle thereby providing best comfort seating position to an occupant. More particularly, the present invention relates to a seat back mechanism that enables the flipping of said seat in either direction of movement of a vehicle.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:

[002] The present invention relates to a seat back flip for a coach in a vehicle that is capable of being flipped in either direction of travel of the vehicle. According to the ergonomics, many people like to sit facing towards the direction of travel as moving backwards can cause motion sickness and discomfort. The seats for a vehicle available in the market does not provide the comfort of sitting towards the direction of movement of the vehicle, to the occupant.

[003] The instant invention provides a seat back mechanism that is capable of being flipped in the direction of motion of the vehicle thereby providing best comfort and easing motion sickness of the occupant.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:

[004] The present invention relates to a back flip seat for a travel coach that is capable of being flipped in both the directions of travel of a vehicle thereby providing best comfort seating position to an occupant. More particularly, the present invention relates to a seat back mechanism that enables the flipping of said seat in either direction of movement of a vehicle.

[005] The number of occupants that may be accommodated by said seat ranges from 1 to 4. Said seat provides the following features:
1. The back of said seat is flipped in both the directions about Back Flip Frame Assembly (Flipping mechanism);
2. The back of said seat is facilitated to enable the occupant to sit in both the directions;
3. Armrest for the occupant;
4. Seat Handle.

[006] Said seat consist of the following parts:
i. a seat cushion assembly (01);
ii. a seat back assembly (02);
iii. a back flip frame assembly (03); and
iv. a circlip (04);

[007] Said seat cushion assembly (01) comprises of: a leg frame; a leg mounting basket; a cushion main tube; a cushion back tube; a cushion support plate; a leg support plate; a side basket assembly; a basket main channel; a side basket hinge pin; a support basket; and a support basket pad.

[008] Said seat back assembly (02) comprises of: a back frame assembly; a back main tube; a lower cross tube; a back support assembly; a vertical support; a horizontal support; a hinge pin, a rubber bush; a circlip; a stopper pin; a back handel mount block; a back ply; a back pad; and a back handel.

[009] Said back flip frame assembly (03) comprises of: a flip frame tube 1; a flip frame tube 2; a top hinge; a bottom hinge; an armrest tube 1; an armrest tube 2; an armrest pad assembly; an armrest pad insert comp; an insert body; a nut insert and an armrest pad.

[010] In the drawings illustrate the best mode contemplated for carrying out the present invention.

[011] Figure 1 illustrates complete assembly of Back Flip Seat Assembly.

[016] Figure 6 illustrates general views of the seat assembly i.e. Front, Side and Top view.

[017] Figure 7 illustrates operation sequence of Seat Back Flipping as shown in Stage 1 to 6.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS:

[018] Referring now to the drawings, there is depicted a Back Seat Assembly embodying the concept of the present invention.

[019] Figures 2 and 2.1 depicts the exploded view of Back Flip Seat Assembly and illustrates the child part connection with others by tracing line; Seat Cushion Assembly and Seat Back Assembly assemble by Back Flip Frame Assembly from both side by Hinge Pin, Bush and Circlip.

[020] Figures 3 and 3.1 illustrates the exploded view of 01 ‘Seat Cushion Assembly’ and depicts the child part connection with others by tracing line wherein 1.2 is welded with 1.1; 1.3 is welded with 1.4; plurality of 1.1 are welded with 1.3 and 1.4; plurality of 1.5 are welded to 1.3 and 1.4. In sub assembly 1.7, 1.7.2 is welded with 1.7.1, plurality of 1.7.3 is welded with1.7.1; and 1.7.4 is glued over 1.7.3. A plurality of 1.7 is weld with 1.3 on both sides and 1.8 is screwed in 1.5, 1.9 is attached over 1.8. as shown in Figure.

[021] Figures 4 and 4.1 illustrates the exploded view of 02 Seat Back Assembly and depicts the child part connection with others by tracing line wherein 2.1, 2.1.1 is welded with 2.1.2; 2.1.3 welded with 2.1.1 and 2.1.2; a plurality of 2.1.8 are welded on top side of 2.1.1; a plurality of 2.1.4 are welded to both sides of 2.1.1; a plurality of 2.1.7 are welded at lower end both sides of 2.1.1; 2.1.5 is mounted over 2.1.7, which is locked by 2.1.6 and 2.2 is fixed with 2.1.3 by appropriate fasteners and 2.1 covered by 2.3 and finally 2.4 is fixed over 2.1.8.

[022] Figures 5 and 5.1 depicts the exploded view of 03 Back Flip Frame Assembly and illustrates the child part connection with others by tracing line wherein 03, 3.1 & 3.2 is welded with 3.3 and 3.4; 3.5 is welded with 3.1 whereas 3.6 with 3.2; 3.7 is assembly of two parts 3.7.1 and 3.7.2, it is fixed with 3.5 and 3.6 by a plurality of screws.

[023] Figure 7 depicts pictorial view of Seat Back flipping sequence stages. Seat Back can be flipped towards the direction of travel by holding seat handle which is fixed on top of the seat corner and pushing/pulling the "Seat Back".

We Claim:

1. A seat for a vehicle, said seat comprising of:
v. a seat cushion assembly (01);
vi. a seat back assembly (02);
vii. a back flip frame assembly (03); and
viii. a circlip (04);
characterized in that said seat back assembly (02) is flipped in opposite direction about the pivot axis of the back flip frame assembly (03).

2. A seat for a vehicle as claimed in Claim 1, wherein said seat cushion assembly (01) is fixed on the floor of the vehicle.

3. A seat for a vehicle as claimed in Claim 1, wherein said seat cushion assembly (01) comprises of: a leg frame; a leg mounting basket; a cushion main tube; a cushion back tube; a cushion support plate; a leg support plate; a side basket assembly; a basket main channel; a side basket hinge pin; a support basket; and a support basket pad.

A seat for a vehicle as claimed in Claim 1, wherein said seat back assembly (02) comprises of: a back frame assembly; a back main tube; a lower cross tube; a back support assembly; a vertical support; a horizontal support; a hinge pin, a rubber bush; a circlip; a stopper pin; a back handel mount block; a back ply; a back pad; and a back handel.

5. A seat for a vehicle as claimed in Claim 1, wherein said back flip frame assembly (03) comprises of: a flip frame tube 1; a flip frame tube 2; a top hinge; a bottom hinge; an armrest tube 1; an armrest tube 2; an armrest pad assembly; an armrest pad insert comp; an insert body; a nut insert and an armrest pad.
