Specification

A BACK PANEL FOR A VEHICLE
FIELD OF INVENTION:
[001] The present subject matter described herein, relates to a vehicle construction and more particularly, relates to a back panel for a vehicle.
BACKGROUND AND PRIOR ART:
[002] Fig. 1 shows a conventional back panel (90) for vehicles. The back panel (90) generally includes one or more slots (95) for receiving cables (97) or the like for transmission purposes associated with the various components of the vehicle like lights, sensors, modules, etc. However, the conventional back panels (90) are so designed that cables (97) can be inserted from only an inside of the vehicle. Further, if an operator tries to insert the cable (97) from an outside of the vehicle, there are high chances that the cable (97) might not reach the slot (95) because of a planar structure, or might get deflected in other direction. Further, to grasp the cable (97) through the slot (95), the operator has to use a tool or his fingers, that is undesirable and prone to injuries. Further, the planar structure around the slot (95) does not provide sufficient strength against bending and/or twisting loads during a vehicle running condition.
[003] Chinese Patent publication CN106611941A provides a Wire passing structure for wiring harnesses, vehicle trunk floor structure and vehicle. The invention belongs to the field of vehicle wiring harness layout, and provides a wire passing structure for wiring harnesses, a vehicle trunk floor structure and a vehicle. The wire passing structure comprises a base plate and a wire passing sleeve. An opening part is formed on the base plate, and the wire passing sleeve is assembled in the opening part. The wire passing sleeve is provided with a wire hole used to accommodate and locate a wiring harness, so that a wiring harness can pass the wire hole from one side of the base plate and be led out from the other side of the base plate, and the wiring harness is fixed and located through the wire hole. For example, the wiring harness of a vehicle trunk can be led to the outside of the trunk from the inside of the trunk and wired outside the trunk. Therefore, the space utilization rate of the trunk is improved significantly, and potential safety hazard is reduced.
[004] However, the assembly, shape, operation and location of the parts mentioned in the prior art are not similar to the present disclosure.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
[005] The principal objective of the present invention is to provide a Back panel including a provision for receiving, with ease of installation, a cable or the like wire, wherein it is possible for an operator to insert the cable both from an inside and outside of the vehicle.
[006] Another object of the present subject matter is to provide a back panel, wherein the provision for receiving the cable includes sufficient strength against bending and twisting loads.
[007] Another object of the present subject matter is to provide a simple, cost effective, and efficiently designed back panel that is distinct from all conventional designs.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
[008] The present invention relates to a back panel for a vehicle. The back panel including at least one cable receiving portion, the cable receiving portion configured to receive and guide a cable therethrough, the cable receiving portion being defined by a first wall, a second wall being embossed on the first wall, the second wall extending towards an inside of the vehicle, such that the first wall and the second wall includes a step, and an opening contiguously defined across the step defined between the first wall and the second wall.

Furthermore, all examples recited herein are principally intended expressly to be for pedagogical purposes to aid the reader in understanding the principles of the present subject matter and the concepts contributed by the inventor(s) to furthering the art, and are to be construed as being without limitation to such specifically recited examples and conditions. The novel features which are believed to be characteristic of the present subject matter, both as to its organization and method of operation, together with further objects and advantages will be better understood from the following description when considered in connection with the accompanying figures.
[0017] These and other advantages of the present subject matter would be described in greater detail with reference to the following figures. It should be noted that the description merely illustrates the principles of the present subject matter. It will thus be appreciated that those skilled in the art will be able to devise various arrangements that, although not explicitly described herein, embody the principles of the present subject matter and are included within its scope.
[0018] Fig. 2a illustrates a back panel (100) for a vehicle in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. In an embodiment, the back panel (100) includes at least one cable receiving portion (102), the cable receiving portion (102) configured to receive and guide a cable (104) therethrough. In an example, the cable (104) may be any wire configured for transmission of electrical power, or audio / video transmission, or any other mechanical purpose. Further in an example, the cable (104) may be part of a wire harness / harness including a plurality of cables (104). Further, the back panel (100) defining the cable receiving portion (102) may be also configured to receive direct wire harness / cable through a box section, or a non-visible zone.
[0019] Fig. 2b shows an enlarged view of a portion of the back panel (100) of Fig. 2a. In an embodiment, the cable receiving portion (102) being defined by a first wall (106), and a second wall (108) being embossed on the first wall (106). In an example, the second wall (108) extends towards an inside of the vehicle, such that the first wall (106) and the second wall (108) includes a step. In an embodiment, the second wall (108) includes a plurality of horizontal embossed portions (108a), and a vertical embossed portion (108b) extending between the plurality of the horizontal embossed portions (108a).
[0020] Further as shown in Fig. 2b, the cable receiving portion (102) includes an opening (110) contiguously defined across the step defined between the first wall (106) and the second wall (108). In an example, the opening (110) defines a stepped ellipsoidal profile. In operation, the vertical embossed portion (108b) aides in guiding the cable (104) through the opening (110) and allows an operator to insert the cable (104) both from an inside and outside of the vehicle. In an embodiment, the vertical embossed portion (108b), being stepped from the first wall (106), provides enough clearance to the operator to insert the cable (104) from inside of the vehicle.
[0021] Further in an embodiment, when the operator inserts the cable (104) from outside of the vehicle, the cable (104) strikes / makes contact with the vertical embossed portion (108b). The vertical embossed portion (108b) being stepped from the first wall (106), guides the cable (104) inside the vehicle without making contact with the first wall (106). This prevents the operator from using any tool or his fingers for pulling the cable (104). Further in an embodiment, the second wall (108) being embossed on the first wall (106) provides additional strength and stiffness to the opening (110) against bending and twisting loads acting on the back panel (100) during a vehicle running condition.
[0022] Although embodiments for the present subject matter have been described in language specific to structural features, it is to be understood that the present subject matter is not necessarily limited to the specific features described. Rather, the specific features and methods are disclosed as embodiments for the present subject matter. Numerous modifications and adaptations of the system/component of the present invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art, and thus it is intended by the appended claims to cover all such modifications and adaptations which fall within the scope of the present subject matter.
