PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.

A BATTERY PACK WITH A UNIFIED COOLING PLATE AND THERMAL PADS FOR TEMPERATURE MANAGEMENT
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to battery temperature management, and more specifically related to a battery pack with a unified cooling plate and thermal pads for temperature management.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Battery packs, especially lithium class batteries, are widely used as energy sources in electronic devices. A battery pack generally have a plurality of battery cells which are connected to obtain high output.
[0003] As shown in the FIG. 1, each battery pack includes battery cell/pouch “A” (1) and battery cell/pouch “B” (2), and a separator (3) between battery cells/pouch. The battery cells/pouch are repeatedly charged and discharged by an electrochemical reaction between the assemblies. The battery cells/pouches are tightly packed and hence it is important to disseminate heat generated from each battery cell/pouch and maintain temperature for appropriate charging and discharging of the battery packs.
[0004] Conventional designs of the battery pack include thermally conductive cooling members, coolant loops, cooling tubes etc. which either makes design of the battery packs and cells/pouches complex or increases the overall cost of the battery packs and cells/pouches. Hence there remains a need to provide an efficient battery pack and cell/pouch that maintains the temperature.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0005] The principal object of the embodiments herein is a battery pack with a unified cooling plate and thermal pads for temperature management.

[0006] Yet another object of the embodiments herein is to form a path for flowing a coolant from the cooling plate through each thermal pad of the plurality of thermal pads. The coolant from the cooling plate enters from one side of the thermal pad and comes out from other side of the thermal pad.
[0007] Yet another object of the embodiments herein is the thermal pads with marquise pattern or any intended pattern to generate a turbulent flow of the coolant.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0008] In one aspect the object is satisfied by providing a battery pack for temperature management. The battery pack incudes a housing and a plurality of battery cells/pouches placed in the housing in which each battery pack comprising of battery cells/pouches and a separator between them. Further, the battery pack incudes a cooling plate placed at a bottom of the separator of each battery cell/pouch for temperature management. The cooling plate comprises a plurality of thermal pads sequentially arranged to form a path for flowing a coolant from the cooling plate through each thermal pad of the plurality of thermal pads.
[0009] In an embodiment, the coolant from the cooling plate enters from one side of the thermal pad and comes out from other side of the thermal pad.
[0010] In an embodiment, the plurality of thermal pads with marquise pattern or any intended pattern generate a turbulent flow of the coolant.
[0011] These and other aspects of the embodiments herein will be better appreciated and understood when considered in conjunction with the following description and the accompanying drawings.
