A Brass Alloy Article And A Method Of Manufacturing Thereof

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a brass alloy article and a method for manufacturing brass alloy article is disclosed. The method includes the steps of casting a brass alloy of the claimed composition. Then, heating the brass alloy at a first predetermined temperature range for a first predetermined time. After heating, forging the brass alloy to the first predetermined 10 temperature and followed by cooling to a second predetermined temperature to produce the brass alloy article. The brass alloy article includes more than 60% of α-brass phase and balance being less than 40 % β-brass phase. The brass alloy of the present disclosure exhibits high resistance to dezincification and superior mechanical properties.
