PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification particularly describes the nature of invention and the manner in which it is performed.

FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to a differential housing for automobiles and more particularly, it relates to a breather baffle assembly in a differential housing of an automobile.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Generally, during high speed operation of axle, say at 170 kmph (kilometer per hour), the oil temperature in differential housing rises drastically in the range of 150 °C to 170 °C. The rise in temperature of oil in leads to generation of high pressure gas in the differential housing. Continuous oil splash and high pressure gas inside the differential housing requires a vent, which is located at differential end for releasing the hot gases from the differential housing.
The high pressure gas raises the oil level inside the differential housing. The test reveals that the rise of oil at high speed requires the breather to be mounted at a height above 100 mm (millimeter), approximately. The breather was then mounted at a height (remote breather) on engine mount bracket. The mounting of breather at above position leads oil leakage through breather. The oil leakage causes the failure of pinion and differential bearing.
The conventional baffle suffers from following limitations. The conventional breather baffle is the sheet metal baffle which cannot be welded on cover plate since the cover plate is made of cast iron. Providing conventional baffle integral to the cover plate is not manufacturable. Baffle inside disconnect housing in case of front axle is not feasible because of less space available in the housing. There is no space available for breather on axle other than differential housing and disconnect housing due to vehicle packaging constraint.

The present invention is developed wherein the baffle is mounted inside differential housing, which diverts the oil flow and takes care of oil leakage through the breather.
OBJECTS OF INVENTION
The main object of the present invention is to provide a breather baffle assembly for automobile.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a breather baffle assembly for automobile which prevents the oil leakage and allows only hot air to escape from differential housing.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a breather baffle assembly for automobile which is simple in construction and cost effective.
Further objects and features of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description when considered in conjunction with the drawings.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
In accordance with the present invention, a breather baffle assembly comprises; a breather baffle (1), holes (2) provided on cover plate (3), spiral tube member (4) mounted on said hole (2) at said cover plate (3), said breather baffle is preloaded against said cover plate (3) and is mounted on differential Plummer block (5), said breather baffle having a bend profile (la) configured to act as the resilient member and exerts axial force on said cover plate due to pre-loading which prevents oil to pass through said baffle (1). Said baffle has a convex profile for facilitate the escaping of the gases generated in the housing.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
Figure-01 is the exploded view of breather baffle assembly in accordance with the present invention.
Figure-02 is a schematic representation of assembled breather baffle assembly as viewed from the inside.
STATEMENT OF TNVENTION
Accordingly the present invention discloses a brother baffle assembly for automobile comprising a breather baffle (1) providedd to facilitate the escaping of the gases generated in the housing, at least two holes (2) provided on cover plate (3), spiral tube member (4) configured to be mounted on said hole (2) at said cover
The breather baffle is customize to be preloaded against said cover plate (3) and mounting on differential plummer block (5) by plummer block bolts (5a, 5b).
The breather baffle is provided with a bend profile (la) configured to act as the resilient member and to exert axial force on said cover Plate to Prevent oil passage through said baffle (1).
The breather baffle is configured with a convex proflle t0 facilitate ventilation of the gases generated in the housing reducing the axle internal pressure and eliminating pinion/differential oil seal leakage.
The baffle is provided on the top inner face of cover Plate which is oil free area in the differential housing.
The Plummer block (5) houses the differential bearing (6)- A Room Temperature Vulcanized (RTV) sealant is provided between the Said baffle (1) and said cover plate (3).

The spiral tube member (4) is assembled on the said cover plate (3) with the help of tube connecting nut (4a) fitted on lower end of said spiral tube member (4).
The connecting nut (4a) is assembled on an adapter (4b) are configured to be fitted on said hole (2) of said cover plate (3).
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
Referring now to the drawings, wherein the showings are for the purpose of illustrating a preferred embodiment of the invention only, and not for the purpose of limiting the same.
In accordance with the present invention, a breather baffle assembly comprises; a breather baffle (1), a breather hole (2) provided on a cover plate (3), an spiral tube member (4) mounted on said hole (2) at said cover plate (3), said breather baffle (1) is preloaded against said cover plate (3) and is mounted on plummer block (5) of differential housing, said breather baffle (1) having a bend profile (la) configured to act as the resilient member and exerts axial force on said cover plate due to preloading which prevents oil to pass through said baffle (1). Said baffle has a convex profile to facilitate the escaping of the gases generated in the housing.
The said baffle is provided on the top inner face of cover plate which is oil free area in the differential housing. The said baffle is provided on the plummer block (5) by mounting it with the help of plummer block bolts (5a, 5b). Said Plummer block (5) houses the differential bearing (6).
The location of said baffle (1) in differential housing also facilitates the faster escape of hot gases, dropping the axle internal pressure, which eliminates pinion/differential oil seal leakage.
Said spiral tube member (4) is made up of steel and assembled on outer side of said cover plate (3). The spiral structure or shape of said spiral tube member (4)

lengthens the distance to be traveled by oil thereby reducing the chances of oil reaching the breather which is mounted remotely and ensure the return of oil in differential housing. The present invention takes care of the vehicle packaging constraints for raising the height of said breather baffle (1).
The said baffle (1) is mounted on plummer block (5) with the help of plummer block bolts (5a, 5b). A sealant means, which is a Room Temperature Vulcanized (RTV) sealant is applied between the said baffle (1) and said cover plate (3). The said cover plate (3) is assembled on the differential housing. The said spiral tube member (4) is assembled on the said cover plate (3) with the help of tube connecting nut (4a) fitted on lower end of said spiral tube member (4). The said connecting nut (4a) is assembled on an adapter (4b) which in turn is fitted on said hole (2) of said cover plate (3).
The present invention is tested and found to be satisfactory at a speed of 170 kmph and axle temperature rising to 150 °C; there were not leakage of oil found through said breather baffle (1).
The present invention is a simple and cost effective to avoid oil leakage through breather baffle (1) and also provides effective way of venting the gas generated in differential housing.
The foregoing description is a specific embodiment of the present invention. It should be appreciated that this embodiment is described for purpose of illustration only, and that numerous alterations and modifications may be practiced by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. It is intended that all such modifications and alterations be included insofar as they come within the scope of the invention as claimed or the equivalents thereof.
