Abstract: The invention relates to a built-in device for a portable end chamfering machine to prepare the welding edges of tubular products transferring saturated steam in power plants, the device comprising a plurality of clamping jaws (01) having at least two legs (04) and vertically movable in opposite directions; a plurality of fasteners (02) for clamping the jaws (01), the jaws being disposed, on both sides of a machine block, a plurality of guides (03) provided for positioning the machine block (08) in the upward and downward direction only.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a built-in device for a portable end chamfering
machine to prepare the welding edges of tubular products transferring saturated
steam in power plants.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In power plants, tubular products (Water wall panels, Burner panels and Coils)
are used in transferring saturated steam and water steam mixture. These tubular
products are butt joined at site as per engineering specification. To make these
butt joints, edges are prepared both on external and internal sides of the tubes.
The portable end chamfering machines are used for doing this chamfering
operation.
The portable end chamfering machines are not having any supports for seating
in idle condition. The machines are kept in stands which are independent part of
the machine, need and the stands to be handled along with the machine. At
many times, the machine kept on temporary wooden supports instead of using
the stands, which may in falling and damage to pipe lines of machine.
To avoid the damage and for better handling of the machine, built-in device is
invented and fixed to the machine.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
It is therefore an object of the invention to propose a built-in device for a
portable end chamfering machine to prepare the welding edges of tubular
products transferring saturated steam in power plants.
Another object of the invention is to propose a built-in device for a portable end
chamfering machine to prepare the welding edges of tubular products
transferring saturated steam in power plants, which allows an improved
operation of portable chamfering machines.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Accordingly, there is provided a built-in device for a portable end chamfering
machine to prepare the welding edges of tubular products transferring saturated
steam in power plants, the device comprising a plurality of clamping jaws (01)
having at least two legs (04) and vertically movable in opposite directions; a
plurality of fasteners (02) for clamping the jaws (01), the jaws being disposed,
on both sides of a machine block, a plurality of guides (03) provided for
positioning the machine block (08) in the upward and downward direction only.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWING
Figure 1 - is a block diagram of built in device in an end chamfering machine.
DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The embodiment here in and the various features and advantageous details
thereof are explained with references to the accompanying figure - 1.
Identical clamping jaws (10) are provided on the left and right side of a machine
block (08). These two clamping jaws (01) are connected by a plurality of
fasteners (02) at the top and bottom as shown in Figure 1. Identical guides (03)
are welded with the clamping jaws (01}-which are used to move at least two legs
(04) only in upward and downward directions including arresting of degrees of
freedom for movement in direction other than said vertical direction. When the
legs are moved upward and downward direction corresponding to the
requirement of the machine block (08) position, the legs (04) are locked on two
sides by locking blocks (05) which are welded with the clamping jaws (01). The
locking blocks (05) are locked by locking pins (07) which are inserted in
corresponding number of holes drilled in the legs (04) as well as on the locking
block (05). Hence, when the machine block (08) is in operation, it gets locked in
the bottom hole position of the legs (04) so as to allow undertaking chamfering
operation by the machine. After competition of the work, the machine block (08)
is moved to other work center, for which the machine block (08) is lifted in the
upward direction and locked in the top holes of the legs with the locking blocks
(05) as shown in the figure. Thus, during transit, machine block (08) remains
free of damage. Accordingly, the built-in-device paves way for better handling of
the chamfering machine (08).
WE CLAIM
1. A built-in device for a portable end chamfering machine to prepare the
welding edges of tubular products transferring saturated steam in power
plants, the device comprising a plurality of clamping jaws (01) having at
least two legs (04) and vertically movable in opposite directions; a
plurality of fasteners (02) for clamping the jaws (01), the jaws being
disposed, on both sides of a machine block, a plurality of guides (03)
provided for positioning the machine block (08) in the upward and
downward direction only.
2. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the machine block (08)
provided on the supporting lugs (04) at the time of machining to avoid
damage to the machine.
3. The device as claimed in claim 1, comprising locking blocks (05) for
locking the supporting legs (04) at required heights.
4. The device as claimed in claim 3, wherein the supporting legs (04) are
locked by inserting a locking pin (07).
ABSTRACT
The invention relates to a built-in device for a portable end chamfering machine
