COMPLETE SPECIFICATION
(See section 10 and rule 13)
TITLE OF THE INVENTION:
A bulb with a secure fit between its metal cap and glass part.
APPLICANTS :
Crompton Greaves Limited, CG House, Dr Annie Besant Road, Worli, Mumbai 400 030, Maharashtra, India, an Indian Company.
INVENTORS:
Amin Mukund and Konniki Kumarswamy of Crompton Greaves Limited, Baroda Lamp Works, Kural Village, Padra Jambusar Road, District Baroda-391430, Gujarat, India, both Indian Nationals.
PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification particularly describes the nature of this invention and the manner in which it is to be performed:

Field of the Invention:
This invention relates to the field of lighting products.
Particularly, this invention relates to bulbs.
Still particularly, this invention relates to a bulb with a secure fit between its metal cap and glass part.
Background of the Invention:
A lamp comprises a glass part which holds the wire which glows in a gaseous environment, thus producing light, and a metallic part at the operative bottom of said glass part which is responsible for providing the fixing mechanism for the bulb, thus provisioning it lamp holders or the like for electrical coupling, and thereby glowing the bulb.
Typically, the metallic part is a lamp cap.
Currently, there is a chance that the lamp cap fitting cap gets loose from glass part, thus resulting in wastage of the lamp, quality failure and market return problems, thereby affectingsales and reputation of bulb manufacturers.
There is a need to overcome the limitations of the prior art.

Objects of the Invention:
An object of the invention is to eliminate the lamp cap from getting loose with respect to the glass part of a bulb.
Another object of the invention is to secure the grasp of the lamp cap onto the glass part of the bulb.
Yet another object of the invention is to provide a high quality and reliable bulb.
Summary of the Invention:
According to this invention, there is provided a bulb with a secure fit between its metal cap and glass part, said bulb comprises:
a. glass part of said lamp adapted to be provided with a slot at its operative
bottom side;
b. metal sleeve adapted to be inserted co-axially in said slot, resting at the
operative top of said slot said sleeve being soldered in said slot in its
operative position;
c. first wire adapted to be passed from said glass part through said cap for
electrical connection; and

d. second wire adapted to be inserted through said metal sleeve having its first end held inside said glass part, passing through said cap and said metal sleeve, and into said glass part again, thereby forming a loop for securing cap onto said operative bottom of said glass part.
Typically, said slot is a cylindrical slot, co-axial with said glass part.
Typically, the other end of said second wire is soldered in order to confirm the secure fit.
Brief Description of the Accompanying Drawings:
The invention will now be described in relation to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1, 2, and 3 illustrate the various stages of obtaining a bulb with a securely fitted lamp cap onto a glass part.
Detailed Description of the Accompanying Drawings:
According to this invention, there is provided a bulb with a secure fit between its metal cap and glass part.

Figure 1, 2, and 3 illustrate the various stages of obtaining a bulb with a securely fitted lamp cap onto a glass part.
In accordance with an embodiment of this invention, there is provided a glass part (5) of said lamp adapted to be provided with a slot (4) at its operative bottom side. Typically said slot is a cylindrical slot, co-axial with said glass part.
In accordance with another embodiment of this invention, there is provided a metal sleeve (6) adapted to be inserted co-axially in said slot, resting at the operative top of said slot. Typically, said sleeve is soldered (7) in said slot in its operative position. Metallic sleeve is used to provide lock between the metallic cap (1) and glass part of the lamp
In accordance with yet another embodiment of this invention, there is provided a first wire (2) adapted to be passed from said glass part through said cap for electrical connection.
In accordance with an embodiment of this invention, there is provided a second wire (3) adapted to be inserted through said metal sleeve having its first end held inside said glass part, passing through said cap and said metal sleeve, and into said glass part again, thereby forming a loop for securing cap onto said operative bottom of said glass part. Typically, the other end is soldered (8) in order to confirm the secure fit.

We claim,
1. A bulb with a secure fit between its metal cap and glass part, said bulb comprising:
a. glass part of said lamp adapted to be provided with a slot at its
operative bottom side;
b. metal sleeve adapted to be inserted co-axially in said slot, resting at
the operative top of said slot said sleeve being soldered in said slot in
its operative position;
c. first wire adapted to be passed from said glass part through said cap
for electrical connection; and
d. second wire adapted to be inserted through said metal sleeve having
its first end held inside said glass part, passing through said cap and
said metal sleeve, and into said glass part again, thereby forming a
loop for securing cap onto said operative bottom of said glass part.
2. A bulb as claimed in claim 1 wherein, said slot is a cylindrical slot, co-axial with said glass part
3. A bulb as claimed in claim 1 wherein, the other end of said second wire is soldered in order to confirm the secure fit.
