Description:A BUMPER REINFORCEMENT STRUCTURE

TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present disclosure, in general, relates to a bumper reinforcement structure for a vehicle, and more particularly to the bumper reinforcement structure for providing a support to a bumper grill inside the vehicle.
BACKGROUND

[0002] Traditionally, a bumper reinforcement is required to improve the strength and rigidity of bumper. The bumper reinforcement is usually arranged between a bumper and a radiator. In current designs, the bumper reinforcement structure is located behind the bumper grill when viewed from front of vehicle. In the abovementioned case, grill opening for heat exchanger is reduced hence a flow of air towards the heat exchanger is hampered. To counter the same additional grill opening needs to be provided to meet the flow requirement, that may reduce aerodynamic performance of the vehicle.
[0003] A conventional solution discloses a front vehicle structure to improve a protection performance of a pedestrian. An upper portion of a bracket may be attached to an emblem base portion, and a lower portion may be mounted to a front bumper. However, no air flow passes through it.
[0004] Another conventional solution discloses a grill cover mounting structure for improving appearance quality of a front surface of an automobile and workability. The grill cover is mounted between a bumper and a radiator.
[0005] Fig. 1 illustrates a front view 100 of a bumper grill 102 with a reinforcement structure 104, in accordance with an existing prior art. The reinforcement structure 104 may be attached to an inside of the bumper grill 102 such that one or more grill openings of the bumper grill are partially or fully covered with the reinforcement structure 104.
[0006] Thus, there is a need for a solution to overcome above mentioned drawbacks.

Each of the number of lower joining members 206a, 206b may be positioned at a left side end and a right side end of the upper portion 202.
[0035] Furthermore, the number of lower joining members 206a, 206b may be extending downwards from the lower portion 206 to be attached to the bumper lower portion for locking the bumper reinforcement structure 200 behind the bumper grill. The number of lower joining members 206a, 206b may be attached to the bumper lower portion via the number of fasteners. Examples of the number of fasteners may include, but are not limited to, bolts, screws, nuts, grommets, rivets, and studs.
[0036] Fig. 3 illustrates a diagram depicting a rear view of the bumper reinforcement structure 200, in accordance with an embodiment of the present subject matter. The bumper reinforcement structure 200 may be temporarily mounted inside a bumper grill of the vehicle for providing support to the bumper grill. The bumper reinforcement structure 200 may be attached via a number of fasteners. Examples of the number of fasteners may include, but are not limited to, bolts, screws, nuts, grommets, rivets, and studs. Furthermore, the bumper reinforcement structure 200 may be mounted in a vehicle longitudinal direction (X) where the upper portion 202 of the bumper reinforcement structure 200 is attached to the bumper upper portion and the lower portion 206 may be attached to the bumper lower portion.
[0037] Continuing with the above embodiment, the central portion 204 of the bumper reinforcement structure 200 may include one or more openings 204a for receiving air from one or more grill openings of the bumper grill. The bumper reinforcement structure 200 may be mounted at a location inside the bumper grill at a location such that the one or more openings 204a is in-line with one or more grill opening to allow the air inside the vehicle. At least one opening from the one or more openings 204a may include the guiding channel 204b extending inwards to prevent a leakage of the air by guiding the air towards a heat exchanger or a radiator inside the vehicle to improve a performance of the heat exchanger or the radiator. The heat exchanger or the radiator may be located behind the bumper reinforcement structure 200 in the vehicle.
[0038] Fig. 4 illustrates a diagram 400 depicting a front view of the bumper reinforcement structure 200, in accordance with an embodiment of the present subject matter. A front side 402 of the bumper reinforcement structure 200 may be attached to the bumper for providing a support to the bumper grill.
